    You can make a difference as a consumer. Boycott China. Avoid buying their cheap crap whenever you can. Many products made in China are contaminated with high doses of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. Even children's toys. They could use harmless plasticizers but the excess tar oil from their countless coking plants is simply cheaper. You don't want that carcinogenic crap.

    You know, it's really selfish of me, but I see pictures like this and think: This sucks, all that pollution gets into the oceans and blue fin tuna and other fine sushi fish bioaccumulate mercury in their flesh, and it really puts a damper on eating good sushi.

  4. That was an accident, not SOP, which is what's happening in China. The US used to be bad, but not garbage-on-the-entire-surface-of-a-major-river bad.

    As long as they are producing and gdp growth continues to rise and their economy booms, no one cares what is happening. It will take years before the damage they have done and are doing will be recognized, until then let the world liquidity driven bull market rally do its thing. You think anyone is going to let a little pollution stop the great growth china is going through at this moment.
