You are one of the worst demagogues. One who takes everything out of context, you manipulate others by stealing their posts from other threads and paste them here as if they appeared here originally. And you have hardly ever read a thing in the Bible yet pretend to be an expert of some sort? You appear more and more like the, perhaps dumbed down, atheist version of an Islamic extremist demagogue. Congratulations you made the second occurrence on my ignore list.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Why do you say this to poster OddTrader? Why do you want to debate him if you think he never read the bible? You said this to OddTrader
Why do you not read his links from people that read the bible and talk about contradictions?
Why do you not read his links from people that read the bible and talk about contradictions?[/ Why do you are not want to read the links from poster OddTrader from the people that study the bible? Then you say this. [QUOTE="conduit, There are no contradictions in the Bible unless of course you yourself create them. Everything beautifully reconciles. I am willing to claim that any perceived contradiction can be reconciled and has probably been in length explained and pointed out in uncountable scholarly and theological texts online.
You debate that poster with not your words but saying to look at theological texts online. But you do not look at poster OddTrader online links.
Because I successfully pointed out that he does not know a thing about the Bible. He is just one of those pittyful demagogues who run around spreading the untruth and cite other demagogues and liars. If he has some original content (his own that specifically refers to text in the Bible) then that can be the basis for an exchange of thought but not the crap that he posted of external lies and fabrications. He refused to provide any original content on several occasions. People who don't think for themselves and do not expose themselves to facts are IMHO not worth reading or talking to. Hope that makes my rational of ignoring him clearer. Why do you not read his links from people that read the bible and talk about contradictions?
I did open the first link he posted and it contained lies and not a single reference to biblical text. If any of his sources wanted to honestly discover contradictions they would quote verse by verse the lines from source. The author did not but instead made up lies, and took everything out of context, and spread falsehood. My time is too precious to deal with untruth. You debate that poster with not your words but saying to look at theological texts online. But you do not look at poster OddTrader online links.
With all due respect but this is not how it goes. That guy made a claim that the Bible is full of contradictions. I simply challenged him to cite verses that he considers contradictions. He refused to do so but instead diverted and linked to other sources. If he was honest and wanted a fair exchange of idea he could have simply quoted scripture. One bible reference would have sufficed out of more than a thousand pages. Not sure where my attitude or decisions are not coherent and logical. Someone who accuses and puts up claims is the one who should back up his claim from the very source he accuses of being contradictory. It's not my responsibility to defend myself nor to read through drivel and more lies.
" Perhaps claiming the highest authority in the bible could be a major cause of many conflicts. Due to proven contradictions within the bible books, as well as against non-bible books. " VS " With all due respect but this is not how it goes. That guy made a claim that the Bible is full of contradictions. I simply challenged him to cite verses that he considers contradictions. "
An example of Negative verses is like such as, Drinking poison would not harm believers! If any book saying anything like that with Negative verses would be naturally banned for sale in the public! Isn't it? Basically parents should not allow their kids reading such books with Negative verses! Why exceptions? Why religious preachers and leaders can say/emphasise Negative verses and use them to serve their Negative purpose, but the world governments still allow the preachers and leaders keep promoting Negative agendas that are based on Negative verses! Without any counter actions! Why our world governments seem doing nothing as counter actions? Our world governments should have done something useful in much much early days long long time ago. Rather than merely talking about gun bans and anti-terrorists programs! While sacrificing our civil liberty daily, in the name of anti-terrorist measures! Have the world leaders engaged in law-making not noticed/realised this direction yet for a potential cure? When the Negative verses spread out like the most dangerous virus on earth, it would be just a spiritual warfare that no any physical weapons would be good enough to counter its spreading! Is it too late now? Just 2 cents!
Just 2 cents, imo: For a more peaceful world and better economy, perhaps what we need would be more interfaith spirituality formations, not guns/divisions! " http://theinterfaithobserver.org/jo...mation-of-a-nazarene-interfaith-activist.html Religious Conservatives and Interfaith Dialogue As readers of the Interfaith Observer know full well, the world is in the midst of an unparalleled religious diversity. Everyone acknowledges this new reality. The ways we respond are legion. Historically, progressive religious adherents are most likely to identify as religious pluralists and work intentionally to develop new friendships with religious strangers. More conservative religious adherents often have a different perspective on religious diversity. An important aspect of Conservatism is “conserving” the tradition which feels threatened by the diversity of voices both within and beyond the boundaries of one’s community. I grew in a religiously diverse household (a Jewish father and Christian mother), but I was raised, educated, and licensed in a moderately conservative Evangelical Christian denomination – the Church of the Nazarene. Rooted in the Christian contemplative tradition, ecumenical in composition, and committed to interfaith practice, PCSF is a resource for contemplative enrichment in the San Francisco Bay area. " " While religion can be a source of healing, peace, and reconciliation, it can also be a trigger, if not an underlying cause, for conflict between peoples of varying beliefs. With that awareness, the International Academy of Practical Theology convened its 2007 meeting around the theme of "Religion, Diversity, and Conflict." From the multiple seminars, lectures, and studies presented at that meeting, a selection was chosen for this book. Representing contributions from four continents, and drawing upon perspectives from African traditional religions, Judaism, Islam, and Christianity, the book offers a rich introduction to the problems and promises of religion in dialogue with 21st-century diversity. Religion, Diversity and Conflict will serve as a veritable primer on the field of practical theology. (Series: International Practical Theology - Vol. 15) "
