You can lead a person to software, but you can't make him click! Sure, anyone's interested in trading, as a dream is attached to it. But as you say, the effort required to reach the dream is the problem. They see your success, but most look at the market as too risky after hearing of those who have lost. Or, they don't have confidence in their ability, as it's not as easy as copying a recipe you've given them, they see it as a big hurdle, too time consuming to truly master, aren't so financially secure that they want to take the chance, are too busy with work, hobbies, the kids, they look at you as being the exception (of one who's been successful), the wife will object etc.
No one is interested in free thing because it doesn't work. However, there are methodology that is not free and people go and pay for it. After many years, they realise it doesn't work too. My point is if the methodology is working, nobody is going to release it, free or not free.
