Foolish picks work out well. Check your premise.

You are 100% absolutely right. When the tide rolls out in a big way, nothing is safe.

I heard Cramer feasted on baked crow this Easter... that UNH call of his right before earnings... OUCH.

Ya know a thought crossed my mind today. Easter fell very late this year. Almost 3 weeks late. Now one day won't make or break a stock... but those 3 weeks.... if anyone here has ever had a vegatable garden, the difference between April 1st and April 20th is huge... from a "lets go to the Home Depot (or Lowes) and buy a bunch of stuff" standpoint. Early April will still see the occasional freeze. I didn't get to break away today to see if HD was closed... and yeah I know a simple web search could answer that... but if they were closed today.... a 4/20 Sunday (or 3rd week of April Sunday)... I'd bet a million dollars, is one of their biggest days in the Spring. And Spring is where they make bank.

Anyway... probably nothing there. Just thinking out loud as always.

    EDIT:

Wtf does this even mean lol? Markets = risk. I think it has been that way for the better part of 4 centuries. I mean...
    ...Whatever.

    You are highly diversified.

    Some stocks are
    on the uptrend (cprt... )
    on the downtrend (hhh ...)
    going nowhere (qsr ...)

You're talking to a long-time died in the wool QSR bear... TH's in the U.S. is a disater. But... I have watched this stock forever. And I am coming from a Peter Lynch frame of mind here. They are shuttering Tim Hortons faster than they can buy the plywood to cover the glass. So... jmho... it is gonna head north. Will it take out $80? No friggin way. But I am pretty sure the bottom is in. And for every downtrend, on any stock that is not complete bs... there exists a bottom. I am well aware of what its chart looks like.... and my call is a bottom call.

On the HHH thing... you might be right near term, but I like Ackman. (And just like anything else here at ET... that one will garner some incoming shells lol)...

Copart is a great buy on any and all pull-backs..., at least you halfway agree with me on that one.

QSR is a dog. Brinker is what you want.

I think if WTI price stays above $50 MLPs will do okay.

All these multinationals that benefited from China growth are all shorts. NKE LULU LVMH EL ELF etc. A deflationary depression is coming.

GLD GDX maybe SLV & Bitcoin in the current leg of this downturn seems to be a good hedge.

Brinker is only up about 30,000% from where I flagged it in 2020... just for the record.

    $8.50--->$153
    Just sayin... :sneaky:

Good call by you. It still seems pretty cheap considering their success over other fast casual competitors.

    Give QSR a chance...
I've watched it forever. And I have been the most vocal about the Tim Hortons disaster here in the States.

And make no mistake Nitro.... trading is trading. There is a whole new cohort of folks out there trying to get rich on zdte options... and if one guesses right... say they buy 50 call contracts on the Q's 10 minutes after the bell a few strikes out for $0.65... and hold all day to see see them reverse and close at $4.75... man getting rich quick is easy.

But that was not the point of this particular post. It was more of a long term thing for those that don't have the free time nor the skill and inclination to pull off those kind of trades, while at the same time knowing they can do far better themselves self-directing their retirement accounts than any combo of 10 "pro's" at any of the myriad of fee hungry "financial advisor operations" out there.

I mean it's really not that hard if you have half a lick of sense, can read an 8K, and a time-frame beyond that of Jack Russell Terrier that stumbled upon someones crystal meth stash. I hate to circle back for the 8000th time... but Buffet and Lynch pretty much nailed the secret to long term wealth building for the average Joes out there.
