Are the algo traders earning money?

If yes, congrats to the algo traders.

And no pity for the losers.

If you want to understand where this 'algos' thing is coming from, watch 'Floored' where you hear a pit trader say in desperation "I can't win against the computers". The guy was up against a wall because he only knew how to trade from the floor. The scene is happening in an office which belongs to a one time floor colleague of his who successfully transitioned to electronic trading and was doing well, while this guy was still in the hogs pit where he was still able to eek out a living.

All an algorithm does is automate human thought. A person can operate on those same premises, save for situations where speed is critical.

    true
so stay out of those situations. And you make computers redundant

trading is the only activity in the world, where you can decide and make, your own destiny.

nobody NOBODY controls the market for the simple reason, there has to be someone who takes the other side of the transaction.

quite simply, both sides decide the market; never only one side

Yes. You buy. It goes up 100%. You sell. It goes down 100%. Amazing.

Market can move 100% without trade taking place. You know that.
