Alexis Tsipras' "open letter" to German citizens

Discussion in 'Economics' started by Tsing Tao, Jan 29, 2015.

  1. I don't want to intervene in your fight with volpunter.
To me it is clear that the Greeks and only the Greeks caused all these problems. They were corrupt, they did not pay taxes, they cheated to receive all kind of allowances without having to work for it. They lied when they entered the European Union.
It is not because Europe knew this, that the Greeks are innocent and the rest of Europe were the criminals. Socialisme is the problem.

  2. sorry, that of course is what I meant to say. I think the rest of the post makes that perfectly apparent.

Nobody pushed Greeks into any corner. Fuck, are you retarded? You are saying that someone blatantly lies to you when applying for a business loan, a loan big enough for you to be affected if the counter party defaults. You do your due diligence (which Europe has done). However, the trickery and level of deception applied by your counter party is on such level that you simply do your best to assess the risk, you price the risk and extend the loan. The other person turns around spends all the money with full hands, lives the good life, turns around and declares bankruptcy and smirks and utters "fuck buddy, the party was awesome, and you idiot believed all my lies and deceptions. Can you forgive all the debt please? If not then I will declare bankruptcy". Would you not shoot such person in the face?

    Are you American?

  3. sure, and they also open themselves up to some nice action on their eastern front, I can bet you not one European soul will waste a tear. Let's see whether they get their anus raped by the Turks still this decade or whether the Chinese and Russians will instead plunder the country. You are as naive as it gets.

I'm not defending the Greeks. Everything you've said about them is true. But don't think for a moment that Europe didn't know about the lies when they were admitted. If they didn't know, then shame on them for not confirming with their own auditors, don't you think?

  5. really? Can you locate a single youtube video that speaks with respect of Holland, France, Scandinavia, Germany, Belgium by any Greek? Can you even count the ones that reflect hatred and ridicule for how stupid we could be to believe them. Apply the same to blogs, news papers, tv news. Jeez, Greek guest workers were warmly welcomed into numerous European countries and were extended long-term residencies and the chance to become citizens. Europea has literally bent-over-backward to accommodate a culture and its people who most likely fit the least into the European model. So yes, maybe you can try to appreciate the sentiment that runs through most European cities towards Greeks.

  6. So Enron's official auditors were in bed with the company?

Actually, we have the most modern healthcare in the world. If you're talking about the system itself, then yes, I agree. It's messed up big time.

As for the rest of your commentary on American fiscal responsibility, I agree - it's pathetic. Is this the topic you want to discuss now? American financial issues?

No one pushed them in the corner, yet. That's my point. My God, it's so tiring explaining every aspect of text to you ad nauseum. I get that English isn't your first language, but you should probably slow down and read to understand what people are saying before you go apeshit all the time.

I'm saying that if the ECB tries to play hardball with this crew (the current Greek politicians) then they had better leave them a way out or they will choose default and all the pain that goes with it, to the disruption of all involved.

Enron wasn't being accepted into a monetary union. It's a bit different. And Arthur Anderson, if memory recalls, took quite a hit for that screw up.

Who got hit for the Greek lies?

  10. a) you have one of the most fucked up health care systems among all industrialized nations. Your health care system is bankrupt buddy. Maybe you should travel to Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Germany, the UK, France to see for yourself that the same standards are applied in those countries as in the US and mentioned countries and academic institutions in those countries equally have health care niches in which they are world leaders. The problem is that the US health care system is basically on one hand a bankrupt empty pot what concerns funding, and on the other side you have plundering pharmaceuticals that are in bed with insurers and lobbyists and control everything. Heck, you even have a huge percentage of people that are not even insured nor can afford insurance. Please do not make me laugh with your funny comments.

    b) I brought up the topic to suggest you tone down your flaming rhetoric because you are not invested in this European experiment, you are invested in a society that is morally and financially pretty bankrupt. Yet nobody keeps pointing fingers and puts up amusing posts. Show a little respect. Most tax payers in Europe are knee deep invested while the Greeks are partying.

    c) ECB tries hardball? Nobody has even played softball yet. As I said, let the Greeks go bankrupt and you see Chinese, Russians, and Turks all drooling over themselves waiting at Greece's door. Let's see which business partner turns out be more civil the EU or those who only come to abuse Greece's weak situation.
