  1. Every community has a lingo. Ballet dancers speak of batmans and jetés, rock climbers speak of underclings and gastons. Option traders speak in Greeks and structures. You can’t be a proficient option trader unless you’ve learned enough of that jargon to communicate efficiently.

Love me some Des,but ill be the first to admit that his option lingo was like nothing I have ever encountered before..And that's coming from a guy who was the head trader of Equity Derivatives at 2 Big Boy Investment banks..

  4. you need to know what to sell - the key word is "vol"

Yeah, I get lost too, but I've always attributed that to the fact that I am just stupid :)

Surprisingly, quite a few members like his jibberish, lingo-heavy language.

But I'd stay far away from him.
To me, he radiates negative energy.

Naturally I do have a basic understanding of options, and on rare occasion I use them, though I'm no expert. I can't understand destriero posts because they approach 100 jargon, but I still kind of like the guy. I was taught that the goal of writing was to communicate. Destriero and I had different teachers. My English teacher said, "when writing, above all else, be clear." I do my best to follow her advice; yet I know I fail to live up to her standards from time to time.

    I hope you reconsider.

He was often obnoxious when he disagreed and when he didn't understand your points. He spewed wrong/dumb information and concepts..... But not because he intended to mislead or scam but because of his ignorance. In him, I see a young wannabe wanted desperately to be your peer.

I was once young, stupid and obnoxious. No longer young or obnoxious but still stupid. So I am sympathetic.

More important, we may hate his attitudes but he is not a scammer. In my book, ignorance stupidity or bad temper are not grounds to be banned.

To me, first and foremost, you should protect us from scammers and fake prophets, those posters who scam for money, selling useless courses, subscriptions, algos. They are the real bad apples on ET.

@destriero, @ChipShotTrader... exposed some but perhaps others are still here?

Quanto is not a bad person...But, any basic trader can spot one error after another on his posts. He says he is learning options...I get it. He has said he has less than $25,000. to invest (from past posts). He doesn't listen to any insight (good insight) given to him. He/she reminds me of an 18 year old. When my niece was 18, she said she wanted to go to Long Beach State...She could get a better tan there!! I kid you not...

Some grace for Q as he (hopefully) listens and learns...

    To be fair, he has two styles of writing;

    1. Jibberish writing for options related things.
He might have used something worse than GOOGLE TRANSLATE to translate don't-know-what to English

    2. Comprehensible writing.
This is used when he is in argumentative/combative mode.
Honestly speaking, I learn how to be more argumentative/combative from him.
