Alcoa (AA) at $37

  1. What do you think about Alcoa at this level?

  2. pfft there are better stocks

the problem with AA is that it is too dependent on metal prices

  3. could you be more specific please.

  4. I don't like stocks that are dependent on an underlying commodity or resource such as gold, oil, nat. gas, etc because if the commodity falters so will the stock.

AA was at 40 in 2004 and it fell 50% to 20 in less than a year while the rest of the market was stable. That just proves how volatile these types of stocks are. AA could go back to 25 next year for the same reason it sold off in 2005.
