Alan Keyes, A Real American!

  1. Wow. Cool thread!

Back in 2004 I ran for Congress in Chicago as a Republican-suicide race, sure loser. I was slated-I had no desire to run-but Speaker of the House Hastert asked me to.

After some ridiculous divorce stuff the GOP Senate candidate had to step down from the ballot and lo and behold Alan Keyes came to Illinois for a showdown against the Chosen One.

I immediately became a Keyes disciple. He's one of the most dynamic, intelligent men I've ever had the pleasure of knowing.

When it was time for me to have a fundraiser I could think of just one name to be my keynote speaker: Alan Keyes. Even though he was having his own troubles raising money he readily agreed to help. I practiced my speech for days until I had a short, explosive anti-Obama, anti Schakowsky, anti-socialism speech. I totally turned up the rhetoric, knowing my idol Keyes would be listening. After I finished it was Dr. Keyes turn to speak. He made my year by saying "rarely do I have a tough act to follow but Kurt just made some speech". :)

    I LOVE that man!!

Now THAT is man I could vote for!

Of course he'll never make it to POTUS.

Voters DON'T want to hear the truth.
