Al Gore - Democratic Party candidate in 2008.

  1. Yes!

If the party completely ignores the votes of 40 million people in the primaries, and just chooses whoever it wants, then the party is toast. You will have massive defections of the powers supporting the primary system, not to mention disgust from the public. That is the best recipe for the rise of a future 3rd party, and the demise of the democratic party.

I also think Gore would lose unless Obama or Hillary were on the ticket. They would lose a huge percentage of supporters on both sides. Democrats cannot win without the black and female demographics on their side. Mac also takes lots of independents. Also, the vast majority of Americans think Nader is a complete joke. This would not help a ticket at all.

No way Obama agrees to VP when he thinks he can win as Prez. And Gore absolutely despises Hillary. Neither have a rats chance in hell of happening.

Also, there is no way Mac chooses Lieberman. They have been buddies for years, but Lieberman is also old, and not conservative enough. Mac will choose someone relatively young, and to the right of himself. Probably from the south or far west as well, unless he starts to lose his lead in Florida, and then Crist is on the table.

This is assuming Mac lives until the Republican convention of course.

I think the only way Gore runs (and I don't think he will as he is only 60, and would love to see a weak, one term republican admin this time around) is if he and Bloomie run on an Indy ticket, which would be a force. Why else did he have that meeting with bloomie last month? To speak about global warming? Suuure they did. Bloomie has already looked into running as an Indy, and I am sure that's what they were pondering, although I doubt they will actually do it.

"picking" someone other than the two current candidates may be a disater for the Dem party, but either of them winning the election would be a disaster for the country. We already know what a Clinton administration would be like. Hussein Obama is one of the most, if not THE most, liberal senator to ever run for Pres. This guy is left of left.

I don't watch television, but I read a lot on the internet. I don't recall seeing anything about "anybody other than Obama or Hillary" from any pundits except Joe Klein from Time. The Democrat party has slit its own throat by trying to satisfy MoveOn.org and other 527 groups and Daily Kos and the extreme leftwing kooks. They cannot satisfy them and middle America at the same time. They can only try to fool one side or the other. They have chosen to behind the scenes agree with the kooks and instead attempt to pull the wool over the public's perception of their extreme left leanings. This is the election of the moderate middle - and John McCain is perfectly positioned to take advantage of that. (I don't exactly say this a partisan, as I am a contemporary conservative and don't particularly like McCain.)

It's the primaries. The main issue is the differences between Hillary and Barack.

There you go again. Algore will not be the Democrat nominee - get over it!

SouthAmerica: I don’t agree with you.

It would be a mistake to have Hillary or Obama as the VP because the supporters of the other person would feel cheated even more. If neither one is on the ticket then it would be easier to unite the party before the election – besides both Hillary and Obama come from states that are blue states anyway.

The United States is ready for real change and if I was Al Gore I would ask General Anthony Zinni to be on the ticket as the VP. That would give even more credibility to the ticket that the new president is serious about bringing the Iraq War to a close and bring the troops home.

If you don’t know who general Zinni is you can read his bio at:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthony_Zinni

This would be an excellent Democratic Party ticket Al Gore / Anthony Zinni.

An Al Gore / Anthony Zinni ticket it would bring real change for the United States in the coming years, and also would help recover some of the prestige and clout that the United States lost during the 8 years of a Bush incompetence.

As a 2nd choice I would ask Mike Bloomberg to be the VP, but with all the money he has I don’t believe he would accept to be on the ticket as the VP.

As a 3rd choice I would ask Lou Dobbs to be the VP, since he has a growing number of independents that follows his TV show.

As a 4th choice I probably would ask John Edwards to be the VP.

These presidential tickets have an advantage for the general election with the exception of a Gore / Edwards ticket since John Edwards did participate on the primaries. But the first 3 choices would mess up the Republican Party strategy for the general election since these people would represent new blood.

On the other hand if the Democratic Party nominates Hillary or Obama – the Republican Party it will have a easier time on the general election since these two candidates are damaged goods at this point. Then the Republican Party would be able to slide in even if by a small margin, but the Republican victory it would be almost a piece of cake.

These two Democratic Party candidates it will not be able to get enough votes to place either of them over the top on a presidential election that few thousand votes make the difference. Hillary or Obama both of them would lose many supporters of the other candidate, and Ralph Nader also would take a lot of votes from either candidate.

In the case of Al Gore being the nominee of the Democratic Party then this time around most of Ralph Nader’s supporters would vote for Al Gore.

I have been talking with many of my family and friends and we agree that we are going to vote in the coming presidential election for:

1st choice = Al Gore or 2nd choice = Ralph Nader.

There’s no compromise here or the Democratic Party gives us Al Gore for the general election or we are voting for Ralph Nader. And I bet there are enough people out there that will do the same thing that we are doing, enough people to have an impact in the outcome of the November election, and if Hillary or Obama is the Democratic Party nominee then the Democrats are going to lose the election in November 2008.

    You can bet on that!!!!

SouthAmerica: We are not talking about of only my vote here - we are talking about 10 or 12 people since some people might change their minds before the election.

That means on Election Day 10 or 12 votes for Al Gore compared to Zero votes for Hillary or Obama from us.
