. Version77: SA, why didn't Gore run this last time against Bush? Did he think that he couldn't beat Kerry for the nomination or what? ******* February 10, 2007 SouthAmerica: Reply to version77 Al Gore is a very smart man and he knew that if he had tried to run in 2004 the race would have been all about Florida and the fact that they had to fudge the election in 2000 for George W. Bush to be selected as US president - that fact would have been in the way all over again. The Florida count of 2000 would have been in the way and Gore wanted to avoid another similar Constitutional crisis in 2004. In the end John Kerry got the nomination and the Republicans turned the election about the Vietnam War â the Republicans turned the clock 30 years in time and that was the best issue they had to discuss during the 2004 election cycle. After 8 years of the Clinton administration Al Gore can claim that they did an outstanding job in reducing the deficit and placing the United States in the right track. And now after 8 years of a Bush administration the next US president will inherit a country in complete free fall including massive deficits, and the US prestige around the world that is reaching a new low by the day under the Bush administration complete mismanagement of everything, and so onâ¦. Al Gore will be able to say to the American people do you want more chaos and further decline for this country in the coming years then you can vote for the Republicans and they can continue pushing the United States into the abyss â or do you want to change course from this madness and move the United States into a sound footing for the future? .

"I have no intention to run for president," Gore said in an interview conducted in Los Angeles and broadcast Thursday by the BBC.
. February 17, 2007 SouthAmerica: Reply to drmarkan By October 2007 Al Gore will be so hot after winning an Oscar - after going in the road on a book tour - and finally in October when they announce that he is the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize. I have no doubt that he will change his mind by that time and he will become an immediate front runner with chances of winning the presidential election. In my opinion, the only reason Al Gore will not run for president in 2008 - it is if he decided that he does not want anymore to be president of the United States. Otherwise if he enters the race - he has everything going on his favor and he will be elected US president in 2008. ************** Add to the list of events: âAl Gore announces series of high profile concertsâ Friday, February 16, 2007 Al Gore continues his massive campaign for awareness and, on the eve of what is an almost-guaranteed Best Documentary win at the Oscars later this month for his hit An Inconvenient Truth, the former Vice President has unveiled plans for a huge series of concerts, set to focus on the same theme as the film - the threats caused to our planet by global warming. Al Gore announced "Live Earth" on Thursday and the internet and music communities were immediately abuzz with the incredible 24-hour event that the former Presidential candidate has planned. The event formed by Al Gore will kick off on July 7th and, according to the Associated Press, serve as the main event for the Save Our Selves The Campaign for a Climate in Crisis, a campaign that organizers and Gore hope will, along with An Inconvenient Truth, kickstart a generational movement into what Gore calls a "planetary emergency." Al Gore held a news conference on Thursday, flanked by Cameron Diaz and Pharrell Williams (of The Neptunes and N.E.R.D.), and told the press "We have to get the message of urgency and hope out." He added "We can solve it - we will solve it. But we will only solve it when enough people in the world get the message." The group of organizers then went on to list some of the performers and locations for the July 7th event, which will be a series of concerts that will take place all around the world including Shanghai, China; Johannesburg, South Africa; Sydney, Australia; London and more cities to be announced in Japan, Brazil, and the United States. One concert will even take place in Antarctica, making sure that part of the event happens on all seven continents. Al Gore said that part of the concert event is still being worked out, "As of this morning, I got a call from friends in the scientific community that we have found a way to originate on July 7, in the middle of what is winter in Antarctica, the first live musical performance originating from Antarctica, so that all of the continents will be represented during this amazing 24 hours of concerts." The bands scheduled already, which number more than 100 performers, including Melissa Etheridge, The Foo Fighters, The Black Eyed Peas, Akon, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Sheryl Crow, John Mayer, Duran Duran, Korn, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Snoop Dog, Bon Jovi, snow Patrol, Mana, Kelly Clarkson, Bloc Party and Enrique Iglesias. The Peas are working on a theme song for Live Earth, according to Variety. It is expected that the Live Earth concerts could reach as many as 2 billion people either through broadcast or through actual attendance. Proceeds will help kickstart a foundation to combat climate change led by The Alliance for Climate Protection, a committee chaired by Al Gore. Kevin Wall, the producer of Live 8, is helping to organize the event with Al Gore. You'll be able to watch the concerts in the United States on NBC and its sister networks, Bravo and Telemundo, while the BBC will broadcast the shows in Britain. Variety reports that Live Earth will also be broadcast on MSN.com at the web site Liveearth.msn.com, which is already up and running. There is also expected to be coverage on Current TV, Sirius, and XM. Live Earth will take over many different mediums and markets. Al Gore's documentary about global warming is up for two Academy Awards, Best Documentary, and Best Song for Melissa Etheridge's "I Need to Wake Up." The Oscars will be telecast on February 25th. Producer Lawrence Bender has been speaking to groups about the message of the film, saying earlier this week, as quoted by Variety, "The movie is a beginning point. It is not the end." Another producer, Laurie David, is going on a bus tour through the Southern U.S. this spring with Sheryl Crow to support the message of the film Many have said that both the film and now this event seem like the perfect warm up act for another shot at The White House for Al Gore, who lost to George W. Bush in the highly contested election of 2000, but Al claims that he won't run for President again. It's gone as far as some former aides of Gore's meeting Boston and actually discussing a campaign to try and draft Al into running. He told reported yesterday, "I haven't changed my answer about politics. I have no intention of running for president again." .
. February 24, 2007 SouthAmerica: In one of my prior postings I mentioned that timing is an important factor for Al Gore to get maximum exposure when he announces that he is running for president in 2008. For maximum global exposure Al Gore is going to have the opportunity of a lifetime tomorrow night when he accepts the Oscar for his âGlobal Warmingâ movie â not only he would have the second largest annual audience in the United States watching that program, but he would have people from over 100 countries around the world also watching the live broadcast of that program. I have no doubt that when he announces his candidacy for the 2008 presidential race â he will become immediately the front-runner of the Democratic Party. The other major opportunity that it will be coming his way - it is when they announce in October that he is the winner of the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize. But tomorrow night â âit would be a perfect occasion for his announcement.â I hope he makes the big announcement tomorrow night, and start putting his campaign together ASAP. I have no doubts that right now he is the best candidate for the job. .
If Al Gore opens his mouth Sunday night IF he wins... It will be one of the cheesiest things he has ever done. It will look worse than when big fat Michael Moore opened his mouth at the Academy Awards... Imagine, Al waiting for the PERFECT moment in time to dazzle the world with his announcement that he is running for President... He has already said he is not running. Al Gore is washed up. His mind was blown when he lost to George Bush... Do you know why? Because for a few moments there, he thought he had won. And then he found out he had lost. It broke him.. I believe he is out of politics for forever and forever. Al "Gone" Gore...
Between you and Z worshipping one figure that you think will do ANYTHING personal in your loser lives gets to be quite boring. Misplaced dependencies and unrealistic expectations = losers _______________________________________________
. Version77: I believe he is out of politics for forever and forever. Al "Gone" Gore... ********* February 26, 2007 SouthAmerica: Reply to version77 Al Gore got a lot of publicity during and after the Oscar TV show last night. I usually donât watch the annual Oscar program. I used to watch it before I got cable TV in 1980. But since then the Hollywood crowd lost their mystic and today all the actors are away over exposed â today there are too many magazines and television programs about them and they have too many awards programs on TV about these people; and they find all kinds of reasons to celebrate this star or that star. Before the age of cable TV basically Oscar night was the only chance that the public had to see all these movie stars in one place (we used to see these people on The Johnny Carson Show or some show like that) â and many movie stars you never had the chance to see them anywhere sometimes for many years. But today just by flipping the TV clicker you can find most of these movie stars on TV all the time. And you get tired of them in no time. I just watched the Oscar last night to see Al Gore win the Oscar for his movie. And he did it. You have to learn to read between the lines â Al Gore is not going to announce that he is running for president in 2008 â he is already running without announcing that he his is a candidate - if you know what I mean. The spotlight it will be on Al Gore once more when he goes to all the TV talk shows to talk about his new book that is coming out in May 2007. He will get a lot of publicity at that time. Then the spotlight it will go back to Al Gore when the new Hurricane season returns to the USA in August/September of 2007. In 2007 we will have a repeat of the 2005 Hurricane season with at least 2 or 3 Hurricanes similar to Katrina. The 2006 Hurricane season was a fluke and the scientists knows that had something to do with unusual weather that they had in Africa; that affected the Hurricane season in the Atlantic and the Caribbean. But you can bet that the 2007 Hurricane season we will see a replay of the 2005 Hurricane season in the old USA. During the coming disastrous Hurricane season during the summer of 2007 Al Goreâs stock it will go thru the roof. And finally, when Al Gore is the winner of the 2007 Nobel Peace Price â he once again will get all kind of coverage and maximum publicity. At that point there is no candidate in the United States â Republican or Democrat â that would be able to beat Al Gore in the presidential race of 2008. Al Gore will be the next president of the United States â and this time he will beat his Republican opponent by a bigger margin than he did beat George W. Bush in 2000. If you are a gambler â you can make good money by betting today that Al Gore will win the 2008 presidential race. You can get better odds today than when he makes his entry official to the presidential race later in 2007. I have not changed my mind regarding the 2008 US presidential race, and if anything my gut feeling is that Al Goreâs chances are getting even better now than before. Al Gore is a very intelligent man and he will realize that his time has arrived and he will go for it. Al Goreâs presidential campaign is âBuilding Momentumâ for the rough road ahead â and at the right time he will make the right choice - the only sensible choice â and he will be rewarded with the nomination of the Democratic Party. After that the presidential race it will a piece of cake. .
Well, obviously the Oscar had to be given to Al Gore, former Vice President of the United States of America or it would of caused some embarrassment. Imagine him losing again, in front of a billion people or more... What was funny, was when he was faking that he was going to announce his candidacy, he looked like he was going to cry while at the same time trying not to crack up. Kind of a strange moment...
