Its very easy to start a thread here at ET but you probably know how ET lacks moderating and who the usual bad boys will show up in an attempt to ruin your thread. That's why most feel more comfortable in talking about the methods of others instead of about their own trading on a consistent basis in such an environment here at ET. Simply, you're a veteran member (over 800 post talking about the markets) and you would have already started a thread a long time ago involving your own price action method unless you didn't know you could start your own thread. Recommend you put your thread in the Journal section instead of the Technical Analysis section or Education Resources section of ET because the latter two areas are heavily patrolled by trolls in comparison to the Journal section.
Thank you, Mark. Honestly I am a bit more veteran ET member than it may seem. And I ran journals here, one of them was very popular even. Just at a certain point lost interest to posting @ forum and now feel it could be interesting again.
Yes, what's good about "real" breakouts is they usually mean serious one way volume and good momentum as a result. Some trades go like 5-10 times the risk into the money literally in minutes. I agree with Brooks, though, that whenever possible it's better to use some signal, which favors coming breakout, but allows to jump in a little earlier. It changes risk/reward in a very nice way. But that doesn't mean if breakout looks really good and there is no earlier entry, I wouldn't simply buy the breakout.
I just started one , and you may write the 3 books and post your trades. http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?threadid=235274
