Your effort is noteworthy. Now my sincere advise to you is not to waste your time during precious trading hours to educate ET trolls. I used to discuss on public forums. Then as I found traders who are genuine, we formed private groups to discuss serious topics. Still these public forums have some value for us, like, say, for spotting quality traders. I have a friend in Telegram group which was formed with like-minded Brooks-style traders. This friend has a knack for chasing away trolls. He becomes Brooks-style academic, uses Brooks-style lingo in the conversation with the troll and asks them questions and, since the trolls are uneducated anyways, they run away with tails between their legs. That is a fun game for him. I pity those trolls too. They are living purposeless lives. Satya Garimella
Well, they've got purpose, its ripping into Al Brooks. My question is: how many of them have actually read Al Brooks Books. Someone called him a Loser lol.
Thank you. Prior to this post I had 17 responses in this topic. You had 20. Troll much? And have a good weekend on the other side of the world. And get some thick(er) skin. All just opinion.
The Robbins World Cup is currently making the rounds on fintwit as the showdown venue bwt gurus and furus - starting beginning of the year. https://robbinstrading.com/ There was a lot of chest beating but the actual entrants are a whittle down list of those at least willing to “put up” Real people, real accounts, all verified real trades.
I think we should have a troll-the-troll week/fest on ET, and, at the end of such a festival we should all apologize to one another to improve the environment here. Good weekend to you too. Satya Garimella
"I have been a professional trader since leaving my career as an ophthalmologist more than 30 years ago. I received my MD degree from the University of Chicago. In addition, I have written dozens of scientific papers on eye diseases and eye surgery. Also, I taught eye surgery at Emory University before opening a practice in Los Angeles, and in Los Angeles, I was on the clinical faculty of UCLA." https://www.brookstradingcourse.com/about-al-brooks/
. Hi Rams Fan, I use momentum and trend indicators and so am not a Brooks-based trader, but I've always thought that the journal penned by @volpri was the best case for Brooks methods I've ever seen. One of his descriptions of the approach he uses was in the journal: “… Hoping it will help some trader. They would do themselves a much bigger favor if they would really really really study brooks but I just can’t say too much about that as I would promptly be labeled a shill for brooks. And I am not. But I do have alot of respect for Al, his concepts and the concepts of 3 or 4 other known traders...authors..etc. I take what I have learned from them and what I have discovered myself from experience and weave it into a methodology that works for me and suits my personality…” Do you think his version is a good example of an application of Brooks' ideas?
I took a quick look at his journal just now to remind myself what he does, and I would say that his journal is an accurate portrayal of the scalping techniques found in Brooks's course, and it looks like @volpri knows his chops. I am a swing trader, myself, not a scalper. A big difference between he and I would be that Volpri appears to scale in as price moves against his initial entry. I, on the other hand, add to my position as the market moves in my favor (provided I have a price action signal to indicate a low defined risk area to add).
First you said The U.S. Investing Championship is a fraud, and consequentially all its Winners are. Now you're saying that Al Brooks didn't go to University of Chicago Medical School. Next you'll tell me SML isn't really a 14 year old girl from Nigeria!
