AIPAC tells Obama to ignore public demands against Israel...

  1. The American Israel Public Affairs Committee, the pro-Israel lobbying group, released a statement over the weekend lacing into President Obama for what it calls "escalated rhetoric" on the part of the administration in response to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's push for new housing units in East Jerusalem.

"The Obama Administration's recent statements regarding the U.S. relationship with Israel are a matter of serious concern. AIPAC calls on the Administration to take immediate steps to defuse the tension with the Jewish State," according to the statement. "The Administration should make a conscious effort to move away from public demands and unilateral deadlines directed at Israel, with whom the United States shares basic, fundamental, and strategic interests."

What would be the reaction if Iran's lobby group told Obama to move away from public demands and unilateral deadlines at Israel?

It is time for the US to fully examine its blind attachment to Israel, and treat them as any other country...

Israel is not the ally of the US, the US has been the ally of Israel.

What has Israel ever done to actually help the US apart from buying weapons that feed the coffers of the military industrial complex?

  2. Iranians have not learned to behave properly. Ahmadinejad is not a poished individual and still have not realized that the West runs the world. He seems like a nut case every time I see him on tv. He asks europe why did not you build israel in europe?

Soviet premier's during cold war were more polished (with the exception of khruschev and his shoe theatrics)

  3. Behave properly?

Check your calendar, we are no longer King of the world dictating behavior to others...

Iran has China's backing, you are aware of that, right?

Oh, and please explain why AIPAC is telling Obama to ignore public opinion?

Big bad Israel surely wouldn't be afraid of public opinion shifting toward a more objective view of Israel, right?

  4. I'm curious how the American Jewish community feels about this. They heavily supported Obama, even though he was raised as a muslim and marxist, two groups which have historically persecuted jews. Somehow, support for Israel has become non-PC among the leftwing here and palestinians have become a protected, officially certified victim group, with all customary privileges.

Is it because Evangelical Christians support Israel? Does that account for the hostility?

  5. USA+EU+JAPAN+SOUTH KOREA+AUSTRALIA+CANADA will weigh more than China for a long, long time. China's military is no match for US and China's economy is largely smoke and mirrors (USA's is a farce but that is a discussion for a different time)

  6. The primary reason from the shift away from blind support of Israel is the actions of the neocons...

Back in the 60's the good Jews were anti war...they marched with Dr. King, they were supportive of equal rights, and Israel was not yet an aggressive thug in the middle east.

Today the infestation of neocons, chickenhawk atheistic Semites, and other nefarious right wing Christian war mongers have turned off the liberals and thinkers and opened their eyes to the current leadership in Israel and the way in which they don't give a shit about America...

Israel is not our ally, we have been their ally, but the facts speak for themselves as to what Israel has done for us lately...squat.

  7. You do understand that the US would not go to war if China marched into Taiwan tomorrow, right?

You do understand that if China stopped buying our bonds, or dumped out bonds on the market that the US would be fucked, right?

It isn't about the biggest guns any more...

    Interesting response.

    Trying to blame neocons.

Who of course were founded by jewish socialists like William Kristol's dad is pretty funny. Takes a commie to come up with that one.

Of course the Reality is that those who support diversity are now reaping what they sowed.

It is a tough call. A monolithic western country who is your current ally with the potential threat of being radicalized by a Hitler.

Or a diverse country - filled with many new people - some who have overt hatred for Isreal and some new people who have no cares at all about Isreal.

If history does not end soon.... I think it will show that Isreal was a lot safer prior to the immigration law changes in the 60s.

    But we shall see.

If I were Isreal I would soon realize that the Christian right is their best hope.

I can't wait until I start seeing Hollywood productions showing people with crosses around their necks as the good guys instead of the evil guys.

if china stopped buying our bonds we would be better off in the medium and long run.

You are spouting the shit the fed wants you to believe.

Run the scenario through your brain.

China stops buying our bonds. Then what - dont just spin think about the alternatives and give them proper weighting.

We can disagree on the outcome --- but unless you are pushing for world communism they are better than what we are looking at right now.
