Aid to Mexico But Not For Texas

  1. Oh, I forgot to mention that "Goodhair" Perry's request for Federal assistance was WORDED (by Perry) to request ONLY assistance in fighting the fires. This request did not require Presidential approval.

Had "Goodhair" wanted assistance to rebuild, he needed to ask for it.

He also asked for all but 2 of the State's 254 counties be included, which is plain silly.

Therefore, this fuss was created by Perry either not knowing how to ask for what he wanted, or he wanted to create a situation that he could use to bash Obama. Take your pick.

A copy of his letter is here:

  2. The response in NO was botched no doubt; but IMO most of that blame goes to Louisiana who should have been responsible for first responses and to the Levee Boards who were more interested in lining their pockets, getting fancy cars, instead of maintaining the levees they were responsible for.

Mayor Nagin (D) and Gov. Blanco(D) both knew thousands of New Orlean's residents needed public transport to evacuate and did not provide it. Tragically, many of them died.

And the Army Corps of Engineers gets the big blame as the levees were not designed and constructed properly.

The jury is still out re. the Texas fires. So, we'll have to wait and see on the quality FEMAs response.

No question, Perry is playing his Obama bashing routine even though it was his poor request that started the fuss.
