Why is it that people like rosie and her ilk can say anything they want about the administration, including the loony theory that it brought down the twin towers, which murdered thousands, but the defenders of the administration aren't allowed to say anything back?

I know. It's because you also subscribe to that same loony theory. I remember your posts.

Wouldn't it be nice if your side was the only one that could spout off in the media. That is what you're proposing, isn't it?

  2. who said you cant say anything back. just argue that facts, do not attack her freedom of speech and call for her firing or inviting guests that want to see her hanged.

  3. but the brits were not prisoners of war
Technically they were not indeed. They were victims of a government sanctioned kidnapping.

while the gitmo folks technically are [prisoners of war]
But that's the whole point, just like the brits technically were not prisoners of war, so technically aren't Gitmo/Abu Graib prisoners. Technically there is no war in Iraq, technically none of them belonged to an organized army or wore a uniform. Technically the Geneva Convention does not apply to them as it only applies to uniform-wearing military in times of war.

If you excuse improper (according to Geneva convention's rules) treatement of british sailors by Iranian authorities based on a technicality, you should certainly extend the same courtesy to the Bush administration. I don't excuse either of them though.

  4. i disagree on the geneva issue but it doesnt matter anyways because if they were tortured i would be outraged.

i dont excuse them either myself, i dont know if i would call it a kidnapping tho, since the iranians were convinced the brits were on their territory, therefore arrested them. on the other hand blair claimed they were in iraqi waters and went as far as to fabricate a map showing that when there's no agreed upon maritime boundary between the two countries waters. both countries were wrong and thankfully everything has been resolved despite all the calls for war. i didnt like it too see the brits pareded myself but no harm has been done and its all that matter.

  8. Big difference between his pics and yours. His pics displayed pure appeasment to dictators who had absolutely nothing to offer in trade, while yours involved the entirely different situation of Americans negotiating with bad guys who had very valuable goods and services to offer our country in return.
