Lol guys I'm the worst jew ever. I didn't even celebrate with my family. Havn't gone to Synogogue for like 5 years besides when I went to Israel last year and went to one in Jerusalem. Everything I say is in jest... if you guys have seen my live calls you would realize this haha. J/k on that one... sort of . I don't see what the problem with the chatroom is. Anek, despite his posts, is pretty lax on the rules. I think you have to be screwing up in a big way to get him angry. He's made it more than clear all he wants to do is trade and help a few along the way that make the effort to put in the screentime. The chatroom isn't even necessary, even though it's neat to see guys making money in front of your own eyes. There's many different styles of traders there that are profitable, though. One might say that the chatroom is good to go to in order to feel confident that AHG works, but besides that, it's not necessary. Screentime is still better even if you have to record the session and play it back. Anyways, happy Christmas guys . And a big thank you to Anek for starting this thread and the other contributors. Reading this over is getting some stuff back into my brain that I lost along the way...
AHG Channel Upcoming Change Ok here is what I will do. I will make the channel moderated but open to anyone. That implies that only those with "voice" or in IRC lingo +V can type. However anyone will still be able to read. The channel will be moderated only during regular market hours. Only experienced traders or people that truly understand the market or have read the journal in its entirety will have voice. This will reduce a lot of the unnecessary noise and promote more intelligent conversation during a live open market. This will not save you from my porn comments, that's something you need to accept. I'm a porn freak If you feel you have the qualifications send me a PM and I will make note of your nick. Once you make the transition from no clue to having at least read the journal all you must do is notify me or Mekas and we will add you to the channel's bot who takes care of user management. If for some reason a user with voice shows his true colors we will demote you until you feel you are actually ready. I don't want to be harsh, just fair. This is my final decision on the matter and I truly think it is for the best. Anek

M, I don't know if anyone has responded to this yet because I'm playing catch up on the thread I was having the same problem as you. I was having trouble taking profits because I didn't want to miss the big runs. What I'm doing now is starting in a position and dividing profit taking int thirds. For example I enter long positions with 3 contracts, when market moves within a couple ticks of last resistance being last swing high I take profits on 1 position and move my stops on remaining 2/3 to BE + 1 tick. Then as price breaks out of resistance, above last swing high I take profits on another 1/3 position after I feel momentum is slowing..Or you could just trail stop on previous bars low.When that low is broken take profits on your second 1/3 position. I keep my stop on the last position where it is until I get a new support area (a higher swing low) at that tht moment I move stop 1 tick below new swing low. This allows you to take quick profits and always have a runner. Another option: One thing I have started doing last week was after taking profits on my first 1/3 and moving stops to be + 1 tick on the second 1/3 and the other one I leave sitting 1 tick under support of the swing low I initially entered on. I started doing this because I had quite a few trades happen where I made my first profit, then the market would come back stop out my other 2 positions at +.25 andthen it would rally and I would miss it. Now with the last 1/3 position under support I was able to catch a big run last friday on that position, after I had made a profit on first position, +.25 on second position, then 13 points on the last 1/3 position. The benefit is if it does go against you, your losses are only on 1/3 your position under initial support. The one drawback to this method is that if the trade never reaches your first profit target you get stopped out on all three positions.
I agree that Anek has a multiple personality ! In reading thru this thread, we could see that he is very civil and profession in his sharing of knowledge, view point and experience. In debate with ST, he can be aggressive. On personal side, he is also a family man, but wonder can his wife accept his porn hobby ? Any link of the multiple personality to a good trader ?
