Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to All, Let me properly thank Anek, Piscuy, Hwkaiser, & others for their more than generous contributions to this thread and to #AHG. Truly awesome how this has grown and expanded. A community of traders helping each other, an exchange of ideas, and a place of learning. Beyond Anek & Piscuy's technical prowess and generosity are their confidence, persistence, discipline, and patience. Something that has helped me is their obvious ability to consistently profit from the market. They represent an example of where I want to go. And, many of you guys are becoming more profitable as a result of this thread. This is so encouraging for me. Thanks everyone. Now pass the eggnog with rum. Shel
Hi All, This morning's trades. I trade the first 1-2 hours of the market and sim. trade afternoons. Today went very well. My nemesis has, for years, been consolidation (chop). Make money on nice moves and give it back when the market doesn't move. But, have recently changed my outlook. Now, instead of trading until I've been caught in the chop enough to recognize it, my attitude is: The market is choppy; SOH (sitting on hands) until there is definite evidence of nice movement taking place. The pre-open market was moving good both today and yesterday so got in when the regular session started. I trade the ES exclusively, just works for me. Your comments are most welcome. Shel
Hi All, Looking back at what has been beneficial for my trading: PA: Price Action is King. PA is not difficult to learn but takes screen time. There's a wealth of information on this subject. Trend Lines: Drawn often and updated. IMHO there is no better single indicator than trend lines to predict the market and watch it unfold. Horizontal Lines: Price Pivots. Whatever you choose to use. Draw lines of obvious support and resistance and extend them into the future. These, like trend lines, are leading indicators; they work until they don't which gives you a whole lot of information. Examples are: Floor pivots, Yesterday's and today's high and low, Fib. ratios, etc. Price Patterns: I look for Double Bottoms, W's, 2B test of bottom, and Dragons to indicate support and time to look for a long entry. Double Tops, M's, and 2B test of top for resistance and time to look for a short. I find most of these to be quite similar just having different names. I really like Symmetrical Triangles, the play on these is easy and obvious as taught by Anek. Suri's book is great and shows all this. He has made lots of stuff freely available right here. Thanks Suri. As far as Bats, Crabs, Butterflies, and Gartley's go I'm at a complete loss identifying them, may you have better eyes. This thread has been very beneficial for my trading. Thanks to all participants. We all learn from each other. The pro's bring their expertise and the newbies bring the most interesting questions. The interplay makes this thread a leading edge for traders and I love it. For the future I hope to keep learning and look forward to anyone's input. Shel
In the spirit of the Holidays I'm keeping it an open channel. Can't close it, some of you literally broke my heart. Everyone welcome as long as you behave. Being nice sucks ass. Anek
Thanks, Anek... Reading logs was fun too,though..Thanks Brutus for posting them, M.Xsmas to you too,he,he..
Anek: thanks for keeping the room open, I have followed the thread since the beginning and was planning to join up with the other AHG's in the room in the New Year. The positive impact you and Piscuy are having on people's lives is tremendous. Good Karma is coming your way for sure Happy Holidays.
So that's too many freeloaders. Aren't these freeloaders also read this forum ,many of them without active participation. Next logical step will be to find the way to filter these freeloaders from Elite forum. Not that I need this AHG chatroom.I'm often sit in Ingo's chatroom after finishing trading (distract me while trading) ,as you too Anek, but this your post smells like it was from Woodie room. Merry Christmas for everyone and good luck.
Suri, I begin to appreciate the power of pattern trading thanks to Anek's this very thread and your book. Your book, among the hundred trading books I have, is the only one permanently sitting on my trading desk. Great stuff. BTW, why don't you include Wolfe pattern in the book? It is also a popular pattern even though it is quite similar to Gartley pattern. Merry Christmas. Swingscalper
