Hey guys... been a solid 2+ weeks since I've looked at the markets. Been really busy with school and other things and looks like I've missed a lot on here that I need to catch up on. Want to comment that the Las Vegas Traders Expo was a good experience for me because of the people I met and got to interact with... especially Tim Morges who took several hours out of his time to just sit down and chat with me and a few others. Also, there were other people who I got in contact with that was well worth showing up to vegas for. Spent some time and extra money I had to build a trading workstation. Just got it setup today. My first real trading computer. 2 19 inch monitors, one 17 inch, 3 gigs ram, athlon dual core 5.6 ghz, 500 gig hardrive, and 2 nvidia nvs 128 mb video cards (that I got from Gnome on this forum) all for <900 bucks. Have another monitor in storage I will probably setup eventually, but for now I don't need any more desk space. Want to comment that I did buy Toni Hansen's dvd at the expo because of her style which was all price. I don't think any of the stuff is necessary... but it had some gems that I will share as soon as I start posting here again. I still don't think it's necessary to purchase anything like that as observation is better, but I did learn some things that made it worth the price. Of course, it did turn out that I knew 90%+ of everything on there, but I didn't know that would be the case ahead of time. Did give me a heads up though to not purchase anything for a very long long time considering everything I need I can learn by myself and to fill in the gaps, there is this thread. That goes for everyone else who thinks they need to spend money on products. Anyways, got one more final left that is a HUGE bitch, but as soon as that is out of the way I will be trading like a madman. Nice to see some familiar and new faces here. Hope everyone has been doing well and making money .
Ok boys I've been playing with a sys to scalp 1-2 points NQ Very simple rules, it seems to work even in the dead zone of last friday (you can even play the bars marked no signal as a failed micro breakout and short/long below/above them, not verified yet) Tell me what you think
I saw the signals but not the rules. For what it is worth neither Piscuy or myself have ever written a system that can match 1/10th of our discretionary calls so this is an area where we could use some help which is why I asked for the rules. If you wish to keep the details private that is perfectly alright with me. Anek
Oh k sorry misundertsood. It's an indicator I found in Amibroker library, but is is used as a trend follower, I use it as a scalp method. (thinking out of the box) Hey still have to test it properly. I'll post the code here of course, what did you think uh?
You take 1.5 max 2 point and you wait for the next signal, It doesnt' take in consideration the trend , nada pure scalp
I've been appreciating the spawn of scalp techniques on this thread. I find that my personality fits the concept of scalping. Mark, the chart you show with your 1-2 point scalp technique, Are those regular HA bars? Also, is your stop basically 1:1 or better, or do you find the need to over extend a little with your stops? -Tech
