  1. bprice,

Which SIM are you using and what charting software created those charts?

I knew NinjaTrader is kinda slow from how it handles tick updates but the last part of the day was ripping so hard the opentick feed kept cutting out of NinjaTrader.

I wonder what NT it would do under a live account condition? Couldn't even put in an order so it was a non-winner there, if it were non-sim I'd be upset.

Did anyone have NinjaTrader (running live) choke up on the data stream today? Who is your broker and data provider in that case?

I'm many months away from going live and so far I've found NinjaTrader promising but the chokeup on fast markets bothers me. I've got 1.5Mb ADSL connection.

I'm using NT live via a Zenfire feed (through Mirrus Futures)... No problems today.
I did run open tick for a while before going live and noticed what you said -- that is open tick not NT.

Also check your preferences on your chart and make sure you have the update setting to update on every tick not some predetermined time value. With this set I see the chart update very quickly with each tick.

    Hope that helps...

  9. Makes me wonder if I'm even using the same method as everyone else here as my results seem to be negatively correlated.. :) Nice day for me testing this method, most trades in the AM. Was busy with equities and missed some great r/r setups throughout the day as I was too conservative where I was resting my orders. A few other times I got stopped out at BE where it would have been a winner had I given my BE stop move more time/breathing room. I won't exit under 1:1 r/r, but obviously am too antsy to tighten up stops. Getting fake stopped too often, YM at 14:26 comes to mind falsely stopping out my DB.
Haven't done a complete post-mortem yet so maybe I luckily missed some potential losses. Trading ETFs with signals from futures and got slipped .05 on my stops.

  10. This is my 4th day trading futures. After 3 days, I was up 6%...I made one stupid trade tonight, without a stop, and gave it all back then some.

I have a good eye for price action in some stocks I watch, but have no feel for the futures yet. But I feel that in the long run, I need to learn futures.

    Oh well...
