  1. Update

Still feeling ill so this will be my last update for a while. Apparently I need a computer break to relax the neck muscles, at least the cavity has been taken care.

For the past weeks I've been trading live in an IRC channel in Othernet to help a personal friend of mine with a financial tragedy (construction lay off), the goal was to help him build capital for a very noble cause. I'm happy to say we reached the goal and surpassed it on his account therefore for those following me in IRC (I kept it quiet) I won't be a regular anymore as it is much more relaxing to trade without posting the calls.

I had a great scalping day and will probably take the opportunity to call it a week maybe take a some time off and give my muscles a rest, these computers habits are dangerous for the human body.

For the curious here were all my calls in IRC today.

  3. Feel better Anek! Good of you to help a friend in a tough spot.. You are fortunate you can offer him so much.

I personally find these entries exits more helpful than charts, as any of us can pull up the charts and see whats going on, but real entries and exits is interesting!

Feel better. I always take my health for granted, until I don't have it...

  4. Anek....

Going to miss those calls in IRC. To think I'm a regular on that channel and one day you show up out of the blue and start spamming trades, you blew my mind away and taught us a lot, kind soul my friend, kind soul.
I know you are in a bit of pain lately but whenever you check the journal real quick could you please post your current trading setups with personal price action tools and special goodies, if you wish to keep it private a private email would do, otherwise I understand, just asking for more feels like too much, pardon for this.

Did you ever find any use on advv/svol or is just another market internal distraction ?

Thanks and hope you have a solid recovery.

Hope you feel better, it doesn't seem to hurt your scalping! Sorry these trades don't have timestamps, then we could go back and try and see what you saw on our charts (especially to see how the heat came out)

I found today was too twitchy (lots of long adjacent bars red/green) for the standard entries so I sat on my hands.

It looks like you averaged down here, was that previous "buy" a short cover?

  7. Sorry I didnt log with time this time, perhaps Daniel or Brutus or Mikey or anyone that was there can post it with timestamps.

Averaging down, yep, sadly I did it on that play. Shame on me.

    Ein,
Your stop should be based on support/resistance. If long, then the last HL or DB of your trading chart or next higher timeframe. This if you are trading price action which is the basic methodology of this thread.
Furthermore, you should create a trading plan that fits you and a stop accordingly.
Probably not the number answer you were looking for, but its what I believe.

    Hi osho 67,

    Quote from smilingsynic:

There is no such thing as "optimum size". Massaging (optimizing) the data to come up with some "optimum" number is the trading equiv of going off on a rabbit trail, imo; for the market always changes. There is no such thing as an "optimum" moving average, either (the same goes for all indicators).

I would suggest experimenting with what works with YOUR ability to act on the signals that come from your system/method. Good luck. :)

Thanks so much for your input. Yes I realise it is foolish for me to think there is some magic no. for volume bar. Nothing fixed can work everyday. Mind ignores some obvious things.

    My main numbers For Z
    50/100 for entries - 500 / 1000 anchor charts

Z has it's own unique characteristics,it can be schizophrenic at times, so you need to be versatile. Pre US open can often trade very differently to post US open. The last week in particular provided some brilliant opportunities for AHG style trading, these were easily picked up early using the above chart volumes. Anek uses Time & Sales for timing entries, for Z I prefer monitoring momentum and volume with one indicator for each.

If you have any further queries regarding Z feel free to PM me.

77 and still willing to roll up your sleeves and have a go, very impressive I must say!

    Best Regards

    Johno
