kid , I also use paint to anotate charts. I have them stores first a a .jpg file from a screen grabber program. No problems as long as I remember so save them correctly initially. D.
Here is what I use for charting annotation. http://www.faststone.org/FSCaptureDetail.htm Hope you like it. Definitely much better than Paint Anek
Almost same here. Up over 500. Lost 200 due to over trading. Possible head and shoulders forming, not at the high of the day though.
It has been mentioned often that keeping a journal of one's trades and analysis is a good thing to do and I believe that is so. I find Microsoft OneNote is highly useful for that because of the way one can organize information in notebooks, pages and subpages, capture screen images and annotate them with arrows, comments etc. I use it for daytrading and position trading, for collection of notable charts and information. Much better than printing and filing because it is less effort and the information is very easy to access. The screen capturing and image annotation are probably not as sophisticated as other programs or the one Anekdoten mentioned but it does the job. What other programs have been found useful for journal keeping?
Damn, I had that 2180 mark as resistance the first time it hit it...then I went out for a doggy walk...and came back and saw the second hit and subsequent drop. So, I mised it. So far, 2 trades pre market...1 loser -50, 1 winner plus 70.
Here's something for today... don't know if this is usually the case but today its happening more often than not. If ES doesn't confirm a move on NQ chances are it won't happen. Anyone agree/disagree? Also here's a general rule for those that find themselves slowly being blead to death by stops. Don't let them get hit. First two bars that close against you get out (if your first profit target is not reached). Or, first wide bar against you get out (if your first profit target is not reached). Something to think about... This is just a general rule, but try the exercise. Think of your stops as insurance... try to prevent the problem before it happens though (meaning, if the pattern is wrong, get out, don't wait for your house to burn).
I think he was just trying to be helpful. Don't let your ego get bruised. We are all just learning here
Yes I don't use it anymore, but the ES is comprised of the NQ and the YM last time I checked. In fact run a small size chart with ES, ER, and the YM and to have a really good move in the NQ all must move the same time same direction. There is a bit of redundancy there, but it works well.
