Recently reversed into short side of corn, bean complex, hedged. Still on long side on wheat and oats. Long term trading, but add onto deep retracements in direction of trend.
As markets go higher, get stopped for losses of futures but call options kick in and negate the losses, wait for patterns then sell futures in most grains etc hedged and try again, eventually...find the highs. There is always some risk no matter how much one studies, but reward to risk very good.
I navigated the first leg of the ag bull market pretty well, but have been struggling in the last 2 months. I was like 3/4 long during fall and half long/half short during winter. From now on, I will privilege longs until at least the end of the year. As read everywhere, we are in the midst of a cyclical bull market based on reflation trade...And it is real. Just do extra research for any short you feel like pulling the trigger.
Still short corn and bean complex, most approaching a target and will take profit on 10% of position. Any deep retracements will be viewed as add ons as new position and hedged. Can't be any more fun than this.
I can see the short on Corn. Feel the same at this time. I actually see the fun in your post or voice. LOL Don't wish to change subject yet I wish and pray the best for you. Too many back surgeries on this end also. Enjoy the knowledge and experience I gain form reading your posts. Take Care and Blessing Texan!
Hello Again. I want to tell that exist the following news: www.world-grain.com/articles/15569-a-perfect-recipe-for-lengthy-dryness Kind Regards, George Kanellopoulos.
This is the wildest market I have ever been part of...And I live off trading since '07. After a very profitable fall, I have just made my largest daily loss the day of the attack, which pretty much wiped out all my '22 gains... Friday, I started to climb back, but I have no idea what my P&L is for today( Some of the stuff I trade is illiquid, so you can't track it, you have to wait for settlements ). During the afternoon, I simply started liquidating half of all my energy positions, good and bad, simply because I couldn't stand the swings in equity, curves tended to dislocate and butterflies went completely berzerk...I am genuinely scared of this market.
