After the Merge, no Bitcoin fan can BS anymore that he is into BTC for the technology

  1. Erm...

I believe ETH was the FIRST to support smart-contracts... It spawned a whole revolution of dapps after it.

With bitcoin its a bit different. If what you value is security, you need the network to reach a certain size. But how do you get to this size if its decentralized? How do you get tens of thousands of nodes on board and a hash rate so large that no one entity can outcompete it, and do it all without most understanding the implications of this?

Its like a stock. How do you accumulate it, like 50% of the float, without moving the price too much?

If you want to create a new and better bitcoin with every feature that it already has, there is no logical way to accomplish this. It can only be done once. If you want a huge and decentralized hash power right out of the gate, you would need millions and millions of dollars for hardware that you just give away. Anything less than pure decentralization and 100% permissionless would be taking a step back from bitcoin. You would need to bribe people all over the world to be involved in a project with no benefit to you. Who would do this? So it starting organically is out of the question.

In order to attack the network now, it is said that you would need so much computing power that you couldn't even buy this much hardware on the open market. It would take too long to produce the chips. And if you co-ordinate with many miners, you would need a shit ton of money to get enough to work for you. And all you accomplish is fucking up the next block. And then you realize that all that effort could be better spent by just following the rules and earning the mining rewards yourself. Because if you fork the chain with a scam, how will you get everyone to continue using your fork?

So attacking the network is unlikely, and starting your own, better bitcoin competitor is even more unlikely. Too many people are in this for freedom and equality. You couldn't convince enough intelligent programmers to work on your project if it takes away just one of the core pillars of bitcoin. And trust me, there are enough of these smart people who understand the importance of proof of work. Its only dumb readers on ET who refuse to do their own research that don't get it.

Throughout history, it was fairly easy to rule with an iron fist. But I do believe that bitcoin will be the first experience of true democratic rule. I think eventually governments will have to fold and give in to the rules of bitcoin. When a system benefits only the top 5%, it won't be feasible to keep the scam going any longer. Your military and police personnel will not want to be paid in worthless dollars. Forcing a system on your population will not work for western countries, and when that system robs people of their future, they will not adopt it. If governments decide to outlaw bitcoin, the smart people will just move to where they will be treated better. We already see it now with the mass migration out of California.

I therefore do believe that it is inevitable that a bitcoin standard is adopted for the entire world.

  4. Another example of a crytoboy, sporting the never ending argument that the current system will collapse and Bitcoin will be there to fix it.

I always imagine streets on flames and people killing each other due to massive social unrest and these guys showing everyone their crypto wallets and saying: "You should have joined Bitcoin when I told you"

By the way those guys that handle your healthcare, military security, police and administrations, the government after all, also handle power stations and internet providers. Those that will stop working so your crypto shit will become worthless. Or do you think that your monthly package with internet and television will be still active when everything goes belly up?

We all have seen how Ukrainians have used crypto wallets in their war, haven´t we? :D.

Got it. No factual argument against the network. No worries.

If internet goes down, yes, big problems. But I doubt the fire fighters will be able to do their jobs, and neither will the health care professionals. As for the government, them being in the dark for a few days, weeks, months will actually be a welcome occurrence.

  6. There are many factual arguments against that "network", all you have to do is to google them. But I trust that you can do that by yourself.

And how about the very same argument that we are discussing, no electricity -> no network. simple as that. So there you have one, carry on.
