In the wake of Hurricane Helene, FEMA and the Biden administration have struggled to provide victims with assistance due to rampant misinformation being spread online. Trump himself spread some of those claims while the administration was working on rescue efforts for hurricane victims. On Friday, Trump took to Truth Social where he claimed Democrats in Washington and Cooper were “blocking” money and assistance to help people hurt by Hurricane Helene in North Carolina. The former president then claimed that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris “knew about it.” “It has just come out that Democrats in Washington and the Democrat Governor’s Office of North Carolina (Roy Cooper) were blocking people and money from coming into North Carolina to help people in desperate need,” Trump wrote. “Biden knew about it, and so did Kamala! It’s all over the place – A HORRIBLE SITUATION. I will make it up to everyone when we take Office on January 20th. HOLD ON, I’M COMING!” Cooper replied to Trump’s false claims on X slamming the GOP nominee for hurting the morale of first responders by spreading “conspiracy theories.” “This is a flat out lie. We’re working with all partners around the clock to get help to people,” Cooper wrote on X. “Trump’s lies and conspiracy theories have hurt the morale of first responders and people who lost everything, helped scam artists and put government and rescue workers in danger.” Claims spread online by the hard right have included saying that FEMA will confiscate the property of evacuees and that the rescue crews have blockaded victims’ routes home, which has fomented anger at FEMA workers. Posts also falsely claimed that local sheriffs were arresting FEMA workers. Reuters reported that posts even went so far as to call “on the public to ask sheriffs to deputize the rescue workers in the state, “That way we can arrest FEMA ourselves.”
This scenario is greatly dependent upon Trump losing a 2nd time in the U.S. Presidential Election. Thus, based on Trump's personality, ongoing criminal trials against Trump at the state level and federal level, his history (and MAGA followers) of launching stolen election conspiracies, accusations of judicial weaponization even though he's the one that did such when he was President, lies about rigged voting machines...many of this shit by Trump have made its way to the Supreme Court to only fail... Many have gone to prison for Trump although the lawyers from his inner circle have made plea deals (state and federal) to testify against Trump in the remaining criminal trials. Trumpers are now a furious bunch of people who could very easily snap again to attempt to storm the Capitol building during certification of the election but this time, they would be facing a better-prepared U.S. military National Guard that will be used without any delays because Biden would still be president. That's what Trump wants if he loses. I would be shocked if he's capable of conceding after a loss and I would not be surprised if his campaign goes behind his back to concede for him if Trump were to lose as an attempt to avoid a civil war within the GOP but it then creates more friction for those who put Trumpism above America. If the above happens...all hell breaks loose within the GOP between the opposition forces that view Trumpism as too problematic after two Presidential losses and the MAGA GOP that wants to maintain its grip on the party...the friction boils over between the two groups as they try to either find a new direction to prepare with someone new in 2028 or continue down the path of not accomplishing much in a dysfunctional Congress with Trump still in control trying to try again in 2028... Then there are warning signs of GOP instability within constituents across the country who feel duped by Trumpism. Further warnings involving friction between Trump and a few GOP governors and their state election offices. Now we have seen two failed assassination attempts on Trump's life. On top of that, we've seen some very angry Red state communities from the recent Hurricanes (Helene & Milton)...people are angry because of LIES by Trump and MAGA. Yet, there may be a civil war within my GOP party regardless if Trump loses or wins because people will see the same revenge bullshit, different conspiracy theories that hurt Americans, wars between Ukraine/Russia or Israel/Hamas/Hezbollah continuing... We may even see another (3rd) assassination attempt on Trump by Iranian operatives. Thus, a Trump loss could save his life because those countries may not feel threatened by Trumpism especially if Trump is then convicted in the remaining criminal trials and then imprisoned although I do see his prison stay as another friction in America's politics. More conspiracy theories and another sad day in America's history even though many of us will be happy to move on from Trump with him being imprisoned or political loss instead of any other way (no need to make him a martyr). With that said, Trump is toxic. He's a radical, party flip-flopper who was first a Reform party leader, moved to the Democratic party until he found the trap door into the Republican party through MAGA but Trump is not able to follow the true principles of conservatism except only when he needs votes. I am told that in the last 24 years of Puring doing what Trump copied, the scientific aptitude of the Russian people has gone off a cliff. The actually high skilled are aging out.
