Trump's Claim: The Biden administration stole $1 billion “from FEMA to use it for illegal migrants. … And FEMA is now busted. They don’t have any money.”

Biden administration didn't steal $1 billion from FEMA for migrants. Trump's claim is Pants on Fire!

    • Starting in 2019, during the Trump administration, the Federal Emergency Management Agency has been funding migrants’ food, shelter and transportation through two programs that give money to nonprofit organizations and state and local governments.
    • This funding does not come at disaster victims’ expense. Neither of the programs for migrants uses money from FEMA’s Disaster Relief Fund, which is primarily used after natural disasters. Congress funds the migrant and disaster relief programs separately.
    • FEMA is not out of money. The agency’s Disaster Relief Fund was facing a funding deficit before Hurricane Helene hit Sept. 26. This is not unusual; nearly every year since 2017, Congress has approved extra funding for the agency.

I'm not sure which conspiracy theory recently spread on social media is the craziest promoted by stupid people who act as if they have "low IQ" or need psychological help. Trump, Vance, and Greene are leaders in promoting the below bullshit conspiracy theories of misinformation/disinformation.
    • Biden/Harris and the government are controlling the weather to target Florida and swing states but not the areas where Democrats live.
    • There are no military helicopters in Florida helping with the Hurricane Helene disaster relief because they're in the Middle East.
    • The government is bulldozing the Chimney Rock community for lithium batteries.
    • Hurricane Helene victims are only getting 750 dollars or applications for the funds are being declined when there are other buckets of funds (e.g. funds to repair storm-damaged homes).
    • Do not evacuate because the government is lying about the Hurricanes so that the military can go in and steal your property.
    • Haitians eat your dogs, cats, and other pets in Ohio.
All the above is stated by these idiots for political points while ignoring it will kill Americans, injure Americans, planting seeds of chaos in communities.

This an example of the problems disinformation causes.

"My father-in-law lives just outside of Asheville...and he has refused all FEMA help because he's a hardcore Trumper. He literally believes that if he accepts anything from FEMA, they're going to take his house."

Man says father-in-law refusing 'all FEMA help' because of Trump
A Republican House member from North Carolina took to social media this week to help debunk the misinformation spread by members of his own party about Hurricane Helene. Meanwhile, a man tells Dan Abrams his father-in-law is refusing FEMA help because of Trump's recent rhetoric.

My favorite articles are when people listen to Trump and have their lives ruined as a result.

Trump Campaign: Here are a list of 10 steps North Carolina should immediately take to ensure people in areas hit by Helene can still vote.
NC election officials: Yeah, we already do all of that, thanks.

NC officials say campaigning politicians are suggesting already-passed measures to ensure the post-Hurricane Helene vote
The measures will ensure voting takes place in areas hit by Hurricane Helene.
