how do you protect a position after hours?! Do you simply hope to wake up with a smile on your face? It just seems f'd up to me ..
End the day flat or trade something that doesn't really have an "after hours." I sometimes buy insurance for over the weekend. I suppose you could purchase the appropriate amount of puts or calls before the market closes and sell them in the morning, if you're worried about an after hours earnings report or whatever.
