I used to like trading cat a lot but have laid off him the past few weeks (Im in a slump so take my opinion with a grain of salt). I remember the day the rumor came out from J p morgan....took a short position and the thing sqeezed me like a banana...but i watched it trade all day and looked at the block trades.....mostly just traders no real institutional players all day.....been choppy doing a few reversals on several days .....I'm laying off intraday trading unless I hear more dirt....stock has been trending down but I haven't seen any panic selling yet

I looked at the tape for a number of NYSE stocks, and they all seem to have the same pattern. At about 17:45, the NYSE and the regionals re-printed the day's opening few minutes, and most data vendors and websites took the last of those prints as the close (incorrectly). What a mess.

I'll bet the software had a problem with the early close and after-hours offset. My incoming data after 1:00 is all fubar'd.
