It would have been an embarrassment to accept an invitation especially considering the following about Prince William pending wedding: * He's not next in line to take the thrown * He wants this to be a wedding for the people * Wedding is not "formal state occasion" unlike his father's (Prince Charles/ Lady Diana) wedding that sent an invitation to Pres. Reagan and his wife (attended by wife only because Pres. was still recovering from the assassination attempt). Also, just imagine the security problem in England if the President of the U.S. shows up amongst the growing terrorist activity in the UK. Simply, it would not be a wedding for the people if the Pres. and his spouse did show up. Point taken, you should also not expect the Obamas to show up when Williams little brother decides to get married one day too nor show up for any other royal marriage unless it's the marriage of someone that's first in line to take the thrown and if proper security can be provided based upon the type of wedding that's planned. Get over it because the wedding just isn't important enough and it would have been "awkward" to have sent an invitation and then get an reply "thanks but must say no until you're more important". Mark
