Adviser vs. Advisor

  1. Which word should I use in a resume? Is there a proper one, or do they mean different things? A loophole in the english language?

    Please advise(or) me.

  2. jem

    jem

I always thought advisor looked better but I find that some spell checkers do not even recognize the word.

You may not wish avoid someone rejecting your resume for a non existent spelling error.

  3. thats annoying, I've been typing advisor my whole life. the forum does give that a spelling error. crazy.

Its a shame that someones resume could get overlooked because of something like this.

    I'm sticking with advisor.
