If you had read the post you would have learned that from Chuck Noblet:

"If you want just one card to run three monitors for a low price you can get the Galaxy GeForce MDT GT 520. It is for sale refurbished for only $19.00. I just got one. When I mean I just got one, I mean I just installed it about an hour ago. It seems to be working great. I'm running three screens now. The card is a little unique because it runs up to four monitors out of two ports. It comes with two adapters that allow you to hook up two monitors to each of its ports."

    Anyway, thanks for your contribution!

  4. Hey freddel,

It looks like you bought a different video card than I did. I don't know ton about video cards. I do know that although many cards have three ports, they can only run two monitors. As in, you can choose two of the three ports. To run more than two monitors with those types of cards you need to get two cards. Your third or fouth monitor would be plugged into the second card.

The card I have is the Galaxy GeForce MDT GT 520 1 GB DDR3.

I bought a refurbished one for $19. I've been using it for about 6 weeks now and it works great. It's a fantastic deal for $19. I run three montiors on the one card. This card has TWO ports. Each port then uses a splitter that lets you plug two monitors into each port.

There is just one screwy thing about the card. Since it only has two ports and plugs two monitors into one port, the computer views two of your monitors as one monitor. Not really a big deal. This means that if you maximize an app it will fill up two monitors instead of just the one it is on. Galaxy does have software that fixes that issue. I haven't really found it to be a big deal. With the software you can maximize apps to one monitor instead of two. The only time it doesn't work is with movies. If you maximize a Youtube video or whatever movie you are watching it will spread over two monitors. Since I run three monitors and not four, my solution is to just move that movie to my third monitor. Then it just maximizes on that one monitor.

Sorry, I can't help because I think our cards work differently.

But to get back to the thread topic, I think the card I bought is a super great deal to run three or four monitors as long as you can live with the screwy movie issue. Only $19!

By the way, the main reason I ended up getting this card is because I only have one PCI express expansion slot. That means I can only have one video card. Before getting this card, I actually bought another card on craiglist for $25 and was ready to install it to run with the video card I already had in my computer's PCIe slot. I opened my computer and realized I only had one slot. That's why I started searching for other cards and found the Galaxy card I am using now. It's a wonderful solution if you only have one expansion slot.

    Chuck
