Ended up buying one today...pretty sure it will do all that I need and more. Found one refurbished on ebay and comes with a 2 year warranty for $600. Also just purchased a 43" 4k TV on sale for $210. Incorrect. A 27" UHD monitor and a 55" UHD TV will display EXACTLY THE SAME amount of data... only will be bigger...the 55". (The both have 3840x2160 pixels.)
