    Good points ;
    + your eyes were not created to stare @something all day long.

    Take a break. Even if i need to use a computer for long periods, glance @ a book briefly, or a window, or a bird feeder out of the window Mark Weinstein[nickname HI %% trader] some how finds thwe time to watch birds feed some during the day.

    Who would want to ruin eyes for any amount of money??? Not me.:cool: Pain , is your body trying to tell you something is wrong.

    I always wear Ray-Ban ambermatic sunglasses when I am using computer monitors. This for me has for years eliminated the eye fatigue and strain problems I was having when I started using computers with monitors.

  5. Are you blind? I know several blind people who often use computers with/without monitors and also wear sunglasses while using them.

    I hope I never join that group!; Although, I thought I was going blind until I tried the ray-ban ambermatics.:cool:

    Some good points raised and a few good links. I need to make a few changes and this should help. Sunglasses would definitely reduce the brightness but what do you think an Optician would say about this.

    My eye Doctor toll me that the eye strain is because people in front of monitors
    don't blink for longer periods, and the eyes get dry just drop water
    on your eyes...

  10. I probably have as much screen time as anybody, and I've never experienced any kind of eye strain with flat screen monitors.

    1. Turn down the brightness (may need to turn up the contrast). I have brightness turned down so much, I need to temporarily increase it to view online videos.

    2. Use native resolution for the monitor, but increase font size so you can see comfortably, 3' from screen. (If the image is blurry at all, your eyes constantly try to adjust to focus the blur... and that leads to eye strain.... much like corrective lenses with wrong prescription.)

    3. Wouldn't know what color combo experts would say is best, but from my experience I'd say "no white background". I use black background for quotes and black background with cyan candles for charts.
