If you trade stocks (both listed and Nasdaq) ranging from $10 to $18 per share, how many shares would you estimate that you can trade (how much size) before you see a noticable price change caused by your order?

    For the following daily volumes:

    200,000 =

    500,000 =

    1,000,000 =

    2,000,000 =

    3,000,000+ =

    Thanks for the help:)

  2. That all depends on your skill.

You can affect the prices with 100 shares and with 10,000.

And it also depends on your orders (buy market) vs buying up while cloaking your orders.
Therefore, for a novice, I would recommend trading with 100 shares to feel out the stock and then gradually move up size.

Also, the price change you asked depends on what you are trying to do. Are you trying to AFFECT the price to push it one way or the other, or are you trying to NOT AFFECT the price, to get in a the best price.

For each there are different strategies.

    Sorry - no easy answer.
