Seems to be a function of horribly misguided IT spending, caused by misaligned cost-center / profit-center interests. Boils down to spend $1.00 to save $0.01. Work shifted to low cost regions seems to come with proportionally even lower productivity. Ever spoken to the Reuters help desk? Ugh. Kind of like calling a shoe factory in Bombay. Alternatively, sit a small team of developers on the desk, and you get good stuff, fast.

This is an excellent idea. There is a real market need for it. I got the impression from some of your posts a few months back that you were considering such a project yourself. Is that still on?
