Adding external monitors to a laptop

  1. I think the DualHead2Go is not a good solution because of the following reasons:

    - It's bulky. Compared to a USB-to-VGA/DVI adapter. It needs to have its own power supply too. Extra weight to carry.

    - It's more costly. At $200+. A USB-to-VGA/DVI adapter with resolution up to 1920 x 1080 can be bought for $75.

    - The resolution is horrible. With their analog edition:

    2560x1024
    (2x 1280x1024)

    1280 x 1024 is coarse, especially for monitors >22"

And you need to check on your laptop to make sure the graphic chip onboard would support the VGA resolution of 2560 x 1024 too. With the USB-to-VGA adapter, the graphics processing is done on the adapter. You do tie up one USB port on your laptop.
