Is it feasible that ripping the head off a convicted man could be an accident?

After all these years of the study of drop hanging people both in Iraq and the US, can the leaders of these countries be so inept at the craft? I think not.

The decapitation was planned and intentional.

No one in power wants to end hostilities.

Decapitations during hangings are not unusual. Remember the Time-Life Series about gunslingers of the Old West? They fucked up so many hangings it was unimaginable, i.e., they are not predictable events.

I'm saying I couldn't care less. Dead is dead, and that's all that counts. How it looks to radical Islam, their sympathizers, and other assorted hand wringers means nothing at this point. It's not like the war was going well and peace was just around the corner.

 

A hangman who's intention it was to simply execute a convicted person has all the calculations for the deed at his disposal. Anybody can find the information, and I'm sure a professional has the information memorized.

The only reason for a modern day hangman to make a "mistake" is because the "mistake" was intentional.
