    hi folks,

at the moment I have a 17" monitor with 800x600 resolution.

yes I`m getting old, but I need nothing fancy.

the only thing I hate is the horizontal scroller at the bottom of the screen.

I know nothing about computers; I just click on the buttons.:)

but if I buy a 19" monitor with 800x600 resolution, would I get rid of the scroller and the width of the page will be completely on my screen?

    thanks for the advice

  4. well with a 19" you wouldn't be using 800x600, because everything would look HUGE. you would be using like 1280x(whatever) or even 1600x1200.

at the least 1024x768 if you have bad eye sight. and at those resolutions you most likely won't have to do much scrolling.

I just got a 22" Acer and really enjoy it's clear crisp resolution.
Being 50 and needing reading glasses, it's nice to have a larger screen.

I turn mine off everytime I leave my desk.

    1. If you buy a 19" LCD, the native resolution is 1280x1024. Text will be smaller than you are used to now, but you can increase the font sizes for almost everything except tool bars.

    2. If the website is built @ 1600x1200, you will still have a scroll bar.

Personally, I like 1600x1200 with font sizes increased a bit.

That's right. The ES is waaayyyy too HOT for an Acer monitor.

  10. Especially today, with that 3 point range .... too hot to handle! :D :D

Acers are decent and priced accordingly. They do however, get the job done.
