Accumulating Junk in Windows, Yuck

Discussion in 'Trading Software' started by TommyHawk, Feb 4, 2009.

  1. It seems I'm collecting loads of unwanted files on my trading computer. They're .csv and .tab. Some kind of log files that apparently don't do anything but take up disc space. So I go and dump them periodically (to no ill effect) but what I'd like to do is prevent them from accumulating altogether!
Does anyone know if there's a check-box somewhere that I can
un-check or something to put a stop to this incessant clutter.
I'm running Windows XP pro SP3.
Thanks in advance for any help!

  2. A csv file is for storing data, such as price data for trading.

    - it isn't Windows XP itself creating those files.

One of the trading or charting applications you are using is storing the data received from your data provider or broker. You'll need to figure out which one and tell it not to.

  3. Real Tick creates daily csv files of trades.
