So if open my eyes a room becomes a cage? Do you understand what a cage means?

    cage
    /keɪdʒ/

    noun: cage; plural noun: cages
a structure of bars or wires in which birds or other animals are confined.

If I open my eyes then the room becomes a structure of bars or wires?

How the fuck does that work?

And why didn't you comment on the part where the so called senile leader is reuniting children separated by Trump? Why send them back if they are operating a cage farm?

How about you give me a straight answer instead of lecturing me on 'opening eyes'

LOL, look at those Dems sticking to actual definitions and dictionaries.

    cage

Why can't Democrats be like Republicans, change the meaning of terms to suit their political agenda.

    LOL.

How about you open a dictionary BEFORE you lecturing others on blindness

Why don't you copy paste what the term cage means before copy pasting links that disprove your claim?

Stop spewing nonsense. The children are obviously in cages. After all Democrats declared these to be cages under the Trump administration. It is their term and now they need to stick with it.

AGAIN, why don't you link me to the dictionary meaning of CAGES first?

I don't give a shit what Democrats said under Trump, if you can't adhere to simple definitions because 'WHATABOUT DEMS', then you are no different than the people you are criticizing. Stop gaslighting people.

And here is a simple fact check

"The first thing to note is that The Post’s coverage didn’t exactly hail this as a good thing. It quotes immigrant rights activists criticizing the development. One called it a “huge step backward,” while an activist who has protested at the facility warned about what might result from the reopening.

But even that activist pointed to the fact that this isn’t really “kids in cages.” Rosey Abuabara said she worries that Biden won’t make the situation better than it has been in the past at Carrizo, but added that, “I consoled myself with the fact that it was considered the Cadillac of [migrant child] centers.”

And here’s the biggest point: Trump’s policy on children at the border wasn’t controversial merely because it resulted in children being held at the border, which is a long-standing reality and is what will happen at this facility. It was controversial because it forced children to be separated from their parents given its hard-line policy requiring that the parents be held and not released into the country (and given that children couldn’t be held with their parents). This, in effect, made for more children (often very young) that needed to be held alone — about 3,000 in total — beyond the unaccompanied minors (who are often older) who arrive.

It was also controversial in large part because of some of the conditions in which many of the children were then held: often in large groups behind chain-link fences at Border Patrol stations.

Whether you called those “cages” or “chain-link partitions” or anything else, though, that’s not the situation at the border facility the Biden administration is reactivating. Carrizo has many more facilities for those staying there — to the point where it costs $775 per day per child. Nor is the administration forcing these children to be separated from their parents. Whatever one thinks about how these children are handled once they’re taken into custody — and there are valid debates about both the speed and efficacy of that process — it bears little resemblance to what happened under Trump. They are not being held behind chain-link fences at a Border Patrol station because of a policy that requires them to be separated from their parents.

Many children arrive at the border as unaccompanied minors, leading to difficult decisions about what to do with them. Many are seeking to be united with family members already in the United States. But some aren’t, and they can’t be released without an adult sponsor taking custody. Releasing them to the wrong person leads to all kinds of problems; in 2014, for instance, there was an uproar after traffickers took some teens who were released to go work on an egg farm."

Try harder, your gaslighting and lack of basic research is obvious.

So your position is that since these kids are being kept in containers with plexiglass rather than metal separators they are not being kept in "cages". Seeing that these are the exact same containers that were used by the Trump administration -- this means the Trump administration never kept children in cages either. This means that all the attacks from AOC and others about Trump keeping kids in cages were complete incorrect. Thanks for clarifying that.

It should be noted that ALL border control facilities housing children are surrounded by metal chain link fences -- including this one which is keeping the kids in plexiglass cages inside the facility.

The problem now is that more kids are being kept in cages under Biden than ever under the Trump administration. We are at record numbers of kids in cages. According the press -- over 85% of children show up at the border unaccompanied so changing the parental separation policy makes little difference in the numbers of children being held in cages with other minors.

This is not my 'position', this is literally what words mean, a cage is something specific.

Maybe you should read the WaPo article again

" border facility the Biden administration is reactivating. Carrizo has many more facilities for those staying there — to the point where it costs $775 per day per child. "

" It was also controversial in large part because of some of the conditions in which many of the children were then held: often in large groups behind chain-link fences at Border Patrol stations."

Again, blatantly false and untrue, quoting WaPo again

"They are not being held behind chain-link fences at a Border Patrol station because of a policy that requires them to be separated from their parents."

Can you read? Who cares about AOC? How about reading actual sources that are provided to you - something you never bother to do asking people to 'search'.

There are literal activists saying its not a cage, you cannot produce a single video or photo showing any cages -literally changing the definition to defend your narrative.

Biden is actively reuniting children that were separated by Trump but ya, it's all the same because of your inability and unwillingness to read simple article. Just show me more Twitter videos that prove exactly the opposite and then play word games because WHATABOUT AOC. Who gives a shit about AOC other than right wingers like you.

So tell us... what is your solution to stop having children packed into overcrowded plexiglass containers by the Biden administration. They now have more unaccompanied children locked up than the Trump administration ever did.

You want to quibble over whether these containers are "cages" or not... but are unwilling to address the border is in complete crisis... and the situation only gets worse by the week. Nothing the Biden administration is doing is stopping the surge... all we see is crowded containers full of children with COVID rampaging.

Build more facilities as they have been doing, what else can be done.

Dont care about the 'crisis', it will go away by itself, there isn't much to do, what do you suppose Biden should do? Restart Trump's policies as a deterrent?

In my opinion.... putting policies in place to deter illegal immigrants from coming should be the first, immediate step. Four policies should be:

    1) Anyone who crosses the border illegally is permanently banned from being considered for future U.S. legal residency. See some exceptions in point 2.

    2) Everyone who crosses the border illegally will be deported to their country of origin within three months. Increase the number of judges determining these cases. Exceptions will be made if the person was in the U.S. previously or if they have family in the U.S. that must accept financial & legal responsibility for them. Also there should be medical care exceptions granted for periods of time for those crossing the border seeking urgent medical attention in a hospital that is not related to pregnancy.

    3) Anyone claiming refugee status must apply at the U.S. Consulate in their home country outside the U.S. -- not at the border. Greatly increase the number of refugees allowed from the three central American nations to accommodate this surge. Grant priority to women, children, and families.

    4) Mandatory 20 year prison terms for coyotes caught smuggling people across the border. The human trafficking must stop.
