Each side has its narratives. However, after my trip to Laredo, TX, I accept there is a real humanitarian crisis going on. Although the most vulnerable of the refugees are not “Our” kids and young adults, they are, well, kids and young adults. We have the ability to help and I believe that is why Trump authorized spending money to help them. Will most of the refugees that get to stay in the United States destined to become voters for the Democrats? Of course. This may be mitigated somewhat by Republicans recognizing that many refugees are Catholic and some these refugees have concerns about the effect of some of the negative aspects the fringes of our culture could have on their children(!). As a side note, I came across a serious traffic accident that had several dozen border patrol agents on the scene. A significant number of these agents were Hispanic. The Demographics favor the Hispanics and the Democratic Party. Over time, the Democratic base is likely to grow at a much faster rate than the Republican base. Like it or not, Republicans and their supporters will need to be more responsive these shifting demographics if they are going to be able to maintain any sort of relevance in the future. In other words, we be dinosaurs and the asteroid is coming!
If only everyone cared as much as YOU about this horrible series of unfortunate events at the border - thanks for showing us how good you are and how bad the rest of us are.
Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., said Wednesday that he had visited the Yuma border station in April "and the human condition that I observed in Yuma was the worst state of the human condition I have ever seen in my life." https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/im...ation-allege-sex-assault-retaliation-n1027886
I think this is more like the worst state of the human condition. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auschwitz_concentration_camp https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Holocaust
