According to the donkeys at MSNBC, we are now running concentration camps.

    Did you watch Comsky's video I posted? Did you recognize yourself in his description of the people in the various factions of the Republican party today? I could be doing you a big favor.

    I have to be honest with you, Piezoe. I don't even like that I waste my time responding to you when we find ourselves both in the same thread on the same topic. The last thing I'm going to do is waste even more time going to some thread of yours that you recommend to watch some video that is probably 20 min to an hour on a topic that is so worthless that you found the need to post it, just so I can try to translate some archaic comparison you're making on this thread to a point you are so far off base on that you couldn't find a salient point with two hands and a flashlight.

    No, I didn't go.

  4. Children have been being traumatized at the border for many years. Listen, I'm just not willing to give a pass to all the previous players on this immigration problem. I'm not willing to buy the deluded idea that we were all living is some kind of utopia prior to Trump. We weren't, not even close. And I'll give you my unsolicited opinion on something else. Trump may be viewed by the historians much more favorably than he is in real time. I hear the laughs. Yeah, people laughed their asses off when someone dared to say he would be president. He just may go down in history as the guy who got things done. He was the guy who took on the never ending problems and said enough, we're addressing this shit right here and now, it's going to be painful, but we're going straight at it. he's the one who took on a do nothing congress and forced the issues. Yes, he's abrasive and unorthodox as hell, but maybe, just maybe that's exactly the kind of prick we need to lead us out of the morass we're stuck in.

    But it is; no matter how hard your wish it not to be.

    Criminal Penalties for Improper Entry
    For the first improper entry offense, the person can be fined (as a criminal or civil penalty), or imprisoned for up to six months, or both. This is considered a misdemeanor under federal law (18 U.S.C.A. § 3559).

    For a subsequent offense, or a reentry (or attempted reentry) after exclusion or deportation, the person can be fined or imprisoned for up to two years, or both. (See 8 U.S.C. Section 1325, 1326, I.N.A. Section 275, 276.) This is considered a low-level felony under federal law (18 U.S.C.A. § 3559).

    §3559. Sentencing classification of offenses
    (a) Classification.—An offense that is not specifically classified by a letter grade in the section defining it, is classified if the maximum term of imprisonment authorized is—

    (1) life imprisonment, or if the maximum penalty is death, as a Class A felony;

    (2) twenty-five years or more, as a Class B felony;

    (3) less than twenty-five years but ten or more years, as a Class C felony;

    (4) less than ten years but five or more years, as a Class D felony;

    (5) less than five years but more than one year, as a Class E felony;

    (6) one year or less but more than six months, as a Class A misdemeanor;

    (7) six months or less but more than thirty days, as a Class B misdemeanor;

    (8) thirty days or less but more than five days, as a Class C misdemeanor; or

    (9) five days or less, or if no imprisonment is authorized, as an infraction.

    I can see now my error quite clearly, I left a few out of the thread dedication that deserved to be included. My apologies to them. Perhaps I will revise the dedication at some point.

    I can answer your question now. Previous administrations did follow my advice, and by doing so greatly reduce the number of refugees coming across the border. I just heard Jeh Johnson speak on this, and he also said precisely what I said, almost using the exact same words. Sometimes the ignorance of people posting here is encyclopedic. If you're going to get your information from Fox News, From Trump (who has a mental disorder and is a con artist) , from his administration and from sites like Infowars, Zerohedge and Brietbart , you are going to remain ignorant of facts and be the prisoner of disinformation..

    You are correct. I did not correctly state what was on my mind. I was referring to the jaywalking conversation and had that on the brain.

    What I meant to convey was that I am OK with the separation on illegal border crossing, but not on the visa overstay issue (to go back to our original conversation). If children were being separated from their family because of something simple like a visa overstay, I'd be in your corner. With illegal border crossings, which is nothing like jaywalking, I am just fine with it. Don't want to be separated from your kids? Cross at a normal border crossing and don't come illegally.

    Apologies for the confusion.
