You are correct. I did not correctly state what was on my mind. I was referring to the jaywalking conversation and had that on the brain. What I meant to convey was that I am OK with the separation on illegal border crossing, but not on the visa overstay issue (to go back to our original conversation). If children were being separated from their family because of something simple like a visa overstay, I'd be in your corner. With illegal border crossings, which is nothing like jaywalking, I am just fine with it. Don't want to be separated from your kids? Cross at a normal border crossing and don't come illegally.
