Thanks Chuck for making my point. Schumer: 'There's No Need' for Immigration Legislation; Republicans Are 'Feeling the Heat' https://www.cnsnews.com/news/articl...tion-legislation-republicans-are-feeling-heat A reporter asked Schumer, "Why not just enact a law that stops them from ever from doing this again?" "Well there are so many obstacles to legislation, and when the president can do it with his own pen, it makes no sense," Schumer said WTF, here is a sitting senator with decades of experience saying that he's perfectly fine with a president legislating from his desk. Is there any further need, anything at all to prove that these guys have no interest, none at all, of ever addressing this issue in a serious fashion? Any more proof needed that it's all about campaigning and what will and won't hurt them at the ballot box?
I'm debating the separation from parents based on a misdemeanor - which is not what illegal border crossing is.
If we had a wall, none of this would be happening, which is exactly why both parties do not want a wall. They want open borders, voters be damned.
I never realized Peter Fonda is just as loathsome as his sister. What a family. The media will ignore his incitement to kidnapping of Barron Trump. Can you even imagine their reaction if someone had suggested something similar for the Obama girls? There is no reasoning or compromise with these people. They certainly feel that way about Trump supporters. They want us cowed into silent acceptance of their craziness or dead. Sooner or later people are going to have to wake up and realize that before it's too late.
As usual you are taking a wrong turn in your understanding of why the children are being separated. It has nothing to with whether an illegal entry is a misdemeanor or a felony. The separation is occurring because of the parents claim for asylum which is a civil matter. But it takes months to get a hearing on the asylum claim but you cannot legallydetain the kids for months so you have to either let the parent go out into the community or detain the parent but let the children go elsewhere. In instances where the parents drop their claim to asylum that can be processed almost immediately and the family can leave together. So it is the holding on to the claim of asylum that keeps the process in limbo. Most of the claims are bogus. They are just maintaining the claim because they know - or knew before Trump- that they will be released into the community to abscond.
Yes he did, but of course the little caveat left out is when the presidential policy is not to his liking, then it's back to the never ending grind of the legislative process. Trumps big sin was adopting of policy of actually enforcing existing law. Jesus Christ, who the hell does such a thing?
Update 3: President Trump has signed an Executive Order titled "Affording Congress an Opportunity to Address Family Separation" to keep illegal immigrant families together at the border, while stating that his administration's "zero-tolerance" policy of enforcing Bush-era immigration laws will continue. I'm sure Liberals will find something about this they hate.
Do you take a stupid pill every day? This problem didn't just happen. Why didn't all those previous administrations take your advise? It's been going on for decades. We need to secure our border. Period.
I can hear it now. "Trump is throwing kids in prison with their parents". You cannot win this argument because it is not based on reasoned policy, it's based on emotion.
