OK, I know we've beaten the 'who's got the best short list?' debate to death...but look at ABRX after the close tonight. I have FOUR brokerage accounts. (IB, Cyber, JPR, ETrade.) FOUR different clearing firms. Now this thing traded half a million shares after hours, just through island. Probably well over a million altogether. I really doubt that every one of these sales occurred from traders who were already long the stock. Every day I see stocks I can't short, and sales take place when the stocks go 'in play' like ABRX did tonight. I guess it's possible that all the sales are coming from traders closing out long positions, but when you see a lot of volume like this, I think that's pretty much impossible. Who is shorting these stocks? Why can't I, or some of the other members here who complain about lack of available shorts?
