Looks like the paradise/offshore topic hit a raw nerve. To do this means leaving family and friends in the "mainland" must cut many ties. Glad to hear that medical doesn't seem to be a concern. Needless to say nobody is going to do this if gross is less than 100k. Hey Metooxx, why not BVI - I thought they have filber there via "Cable and Wireless" - not sure whether a T1 is available there? I like to hear about your comment there (BVI) and other locations.
Thanks metooxx. Those are good considerations. I'll keep them in mind in the future. Developing a local business will also a plus -building own house would be a good start - except moving the building material would be a challenge on those islands. What do you do when the storm comes - closing shop?
Moving stuff from Florida is an everyday thing; people bulk grocery shop there once a month. Haven't seen a major storm; at first I thought we would leave, now I realize the locals treat it like we would a snow storm ...
Metooxx, my mindset re. storm is same as yours/local, but just wondering whether the internet connection would get affected or not. If you have big open positions - would you fly to the "mainland" just in case?
Sorry I couldnt get the connection until now. I am on vocation in Singapore with my family The food is really nice here
