from: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/apple-sued-china-over-showing-062201603.html Looks like China is trying to push the Apple from their market - It may seriously damage the Apple sale numbers: "In April, it suspended its iBooks and iTunes Movies services, reportedly due to an order by Chinese regulators. In May, a Beijing intellectual property tribunal in Beijing ordered Apple to stop selling its iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in the city after finding they look too much like a model made by a small Chinese brand. Sales of the phones are continuing while Apple appeals. Also that month, Apple suffered another setback when a court ruled that a Chinese company is allowed to use the iPhone trademark on bags, wallets and other leather goods."
In all honesty, you might be right. Never fight a trend. And this could very well be an uptrend. The whole Apple TV thing is interesting. The days of 300 channel TV are over. Streaming 10 or so live channels that a subscriber can pick for a price lower than NFLX is definitely an opportune and interesting market niche. The bridge between cable and NFLX. And they certainly have the money to do it. I might have to sell those puts this week on any weakness. Could get burned. And we never know what flies on the wall Buffet and Company have in Cupertino. Maybe they do know something we don't. nervous
Don't rush to sell, in any case, it is not the best idea. I'd hold it and wait for the next earnings' result.
how brexit affect AAPL: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/citi-...rns-brexit-impact-iphone-sales-135006500.html "lowering our estimates for June and September quarters given potential for lower demand from macro uncertainty (Brexit related), currency volatility and lengthening replacement cycles"
There was an article today that said Apple's suppliers were expecting slower than expected sales and their stocks dropped a great deal. ------------ Shares of Cirrus Logic and Skyworks Solutions are sliding after Pacific Crest analyst Michael McConnell downgraded both to Sector Weight, a neutral-equivalent rating, citing concerns about Apple's upcoming "iPhone 7." Furthermore, Citi analyst Jim Suva lowered his quarter estimates for Apple in a separate note this morning on similar concerns and to reflect a pause in demand and lengthening iPhone replacement cycles. http://business-news.thestreet.com/...iphone-demand-pause-upgrade-concerns/13629047 ----------- If the suppliers are seeing a reduced demand and longer product cycles then that means there will be diminished revenues...lower earnings. And if Apple can't sell their product in China or India, do you think Apple will continue to make their phones in China (Foxconn)? Then that means if they more their production site it will move to another nation with higher productions costs (assuming China is the cheapest). Meaning......lower earnings. Cirrus Logic was down 5.99% today. Skyworks Solutions was down 6.04% today. Apple was only down .94% today. Will Apple fall further to fall in line with their suppliers? I guess we'll know when Apple releases their new phone.
