  5. $AAPL is trending higher on better than expected earnings. AAPL is a strong buy below $100 if we see another panic sell off.

  6. Apple Watch: $36B In Sales In Fiscal 2017 Says Global Equities Research
    Teresa Rivas -- November 2, 2015

It was a busy week of Apple news last week, but especially Apple Watch. Apple filed its 10K with the Securities and Exchange Commission, with language suggesting that the Apple Watch saw $1.7 billion in sales in fiscal 2015.

However, Global Equities Research’s Trip Chowdhry is more bullish than that, and writes that Watch sales looks poised to balloon.

He thinks Apple sold 7.6 million Apple Watches in fiscal 2015, with an average selling price of $530, which translates into $4 billion in revenues. Keeping that same ASP of $530, he now estimates 43 million watches sold in fiscal 2016, or $23 billion in revenues, and 68 million sold in fiscal 2017, with $36 billion in revenues.

Why so optimistic? Chowdhry writes that he expects the Watch to have a trajectory similar to the iPhone. Recall, the iPhone sold only about 1.4 million units in 2007, the year it was introduced, compared to nearly 170 million last fiscal year.

He writes that his research suggests that users are switching from phones using Google owner Alphabet’s operating systems because they are not compatible with the Apple Watch, and he estimates that some 10% of consumers who buy the latest generation iPhones also buy the Apple Watches concurrently.

Part of the appeal is the fact that Apple is “generations ahead”:

WatchKit extensions now runs natively on the Apple watch itself; which makes native Watch Applications possible leading to untethered experience.

WatchKit comes with a new API called ‘WKInterfacePicker’; which makes it possible to use Digital Crown as an input device, rather than for just scrolling through the list and zooming in-out of content.

PassKit enables adding Passes (Credit Cards, Loyalty Cards, Boarding Passes) to the Library across all devices synchronized through iCloud; which makes Apple Watch fully functional with Apple Pay.

ClockKit enables creation of custom Apple Watch Complications.

Be ready for AAPL to go down to $100 soon and only then the retest of $119 break out might happen.

Long term AAPL is $30-40 range as mentioned in one other thread.
