Apple Acquisition

Apple bought a Danish company called Spektral at the end of last year, it has now emerged. According to local media, the price was around $31 million. Apple Deal

Apple is paying up to $600 million to license technology and buy assets from the British chip designer Dialog Semiconductor. The deal bumped up Dialog's share price by more than a third (at least someone's doing well) in Frankfurt this morning. Dialog had been warning investors that Apple, by far its biggest customer, could design its own power management chips soon, but it seems Apple is continuing to lean on the Reading-based firm. Alipay pilfered. Ant Financial says hackers have used identity data stolen from Apple to loot an undisclosed amount of money from Alipay accounts. Some Alipay users link their accounts to their Apple IDs, which is how the data breach has impacted both companies. Ant claims it is Apple's responsibility to resolve the issue has warned users to lower their transaction limits. TechNode

 

Apple Overhaul

Apple's next product unveiling is scheduled for October 30. It is expected to show off new iPad Pros, a cheaper MacBook and a revised Mac mini desktop. Apple revamped its lower-cost iPads earlier this year. The new iPad Pros will reportedly use facial recognition for unlocking and contain an Apple-designed graphics chip. Bloomberg

The chart is looking a little iffy for AAPL as the weekly candle is breaking down through the 20-week simple moving average and the daily price breaks down through crucial support.

 

Apple Breakdown

Apple will no longer report a breakdown of unit sales for iPhones, iPads and Macs, starting with the December quarter. When the company informed investors of this, its stock fell by as much as 7% in aftermarket trading. The rationale? CFO Luca Maestri: "A unit of sale is less relevant for us today than it was in the past, given our breadth of our portfolio and the wider sales price dispersion within any given product line."
