It's not like people were buying the iphone before for its innovative ideas. They were buying it because people secretly detest choices and freedom and just want other people to run their lives. That's what apple provides: it dictates everything on their devices and it demands worship in exchange. They're not a software company- they're a cult that demands total devotion and obedience. The ecstasy achieved through the unconditional surrender of their independent selves, being freed from choices and given prepackaged "perfection" is the reward of the cult. Apple runs the racket in exactly the same manner as any cult- they offer to run your life for you in exchange for all your cash and there are plenty of takers. So as long as the new cult leaders can maintain the rituals and the devotion of the congregation in its regular worship services (product unveilings), I dont see a problem.
You're right. Its clean, intuitive, free of bugs, free of viruses, and allows me to get on with my day without fussing with the device. I have no desire whatsoever to upgrade my iPhone 6s, it works perfectly. I would have stuck with the iPhone 5, if my 3 year old child hadn't get a hold of it and dropped it in the toilet. When last I had an Android phone, it was overloaded with a virus that was causing annoying pop-up messages. No matter how hard I tried, despite clearing the phone multiple times, that pop up messages persisted. I don't have time for this nonsense. I want a good quality phone that works every time with the least amount of effort possible. This allows me to get on with my day and focus on what really matters.
Yup. Apple sure delivers on simplicity (and bling) which is why they're able to extract a massive premium. If they don't screw up massively they should be able to continue to do so.

Life has taught me that it's not impossible to turn a profit at the expense of suckers. In other words, don't bet against a company just because they sell feel-good products, especially with a growing population with decaying self-esteem. I'm going long on whiskas myself.
