I'm sure that many of you guys have a home theater setup like myself, where you've got one brand of TV, another brand of receiver, a cable box or satellite box, and some other device like a DVD player or Apple TV box. Now I know that technically the remotes of all those devices can be programmed to also control one of the other devices but they usually do a really bad job of it. So my question is this: Has anybody found a good remote control that can be programmed to control the most common functions of all those devices efficiently?? Or am I hopelessly stuck in remote juggling hell?
I have two friends that swear by Harmony remotes (http://www.logitech.com/en-us/remotes/universal-remotes). As I understand the concept you essentially plug the remote in to your computer, go to a website, tell them what equipment you have and voila it's programmed.
